I am a journalist myself (although not a dartsjournalist, I don't think there is a market for such a thing as a dartsjournalist, but nevermind) and there are certain (un)written rules a real journalist should stick to:
- There is such a thing as a fair hearing. This means that he should at least have called Tony O'Shea to ask him for a reaction, which he obviously didnt.
- The question whether he should have asked for your permission to publish this could not be answered unilateral. Discussion is whether this forum counts as a public place and whether things said here are out in the open and ready to use for media. This aint no public space like Twitter or so, but on the other hand: everyone could create an account and access this forum. Whether its decent to use your words without letting you know, is another question. I wouldnt have done that.
- But, and thats my third point, its not very convincingly to base your story on one source. Everyone could say something on here. And ofc because you are a dartsplayer yourself you could be seen as more reliable but I would have based my story on at least 2 sources. If I havent two sources, I wouldnt publish it if the news didnt come directly from the player himself.

Answered my own question by looking at the timestamps. Pieter put it on his site at 11am yesterday, Dartfreakz after 2pm.
