During Lakeside, the biggest BDO comp of the year, and possibly the last one ever on terrestrial tv the bdo directors were not concerned about the mass exodus of players to the PDC Q-school.

No...they were more busy with passing out photos of me instead.
Let that sink in for a bit and you realize why the BDO is in the state it is.

See that he has also signed a 3 year deal with MDA Promotions.

So Matt Smith (BT Sport) has recently hinted about being at the darts again soon (former ITV presenter of PDC tourneys).

James Richardson (BT Sport presenter currently) said join us soon for more Darts on BT Sport.

Maybe BT Sport have plans for more BDO. Maybe they have plans with Barry Hearn. Interesting to see what happens.

Of course Matt Smith could be playing, and James Richardson might have worded his goodbye poorly.

As far as I can see, there aren’t any PDC tournaments available for BT to televise. They’re not going to take on the European Tour.

They had their chance at the last tender.

. Although FB fanatics would apoplectic with rage given the comments about BT Sport having coverage at Lakeside !

I'm probably putting 2+2 together and coming up with 5, but interesting words.

We have seen lesser tournaments televised before which was good for the purists but where coverage was basic. There are medium to large sized tournaments televised on Dutch TV to a very good standard which could be opportunities for BT Sport to add to their portfolio of sports coverage (imo).

I know what you mean but Richardson was hardly going to say ‘see you next year’ or ‘we don’t have any more darts on BT Sport’ ! Still, I hope there is a deal to show some
events, whether that be BDO or PDC it would be good!

The issue they have is that they are in the process of losing a load of players who just appeared in the world championship. Not great leverage talking to tv companies.
