I see Andy Hamilton has made the decision not to enter Q-School and will be entering BDO Tournaments.

Good luck to him going back to the amateur side of the game. Hope he can get his game together enough to be competitive on the pro side again..

I'm surprised he feels he needs to step up, I think he'd be better off earning a bit of a bankroll in the pdc before taking such a big step change but I wish him well.

Yes surprised to say the least, only got to win one game in the PDC to get your money back.......... The draw of winning the ultimate tournament "Lakeside" is too much for some, you can't really blame him, exhibitions get boring after a while.

There will be many coming back, there have been quite a few already. Be honest with yourself, out of the whole PDC tournament there has only been one match worth watching, is this enough to keep people interested long term?

A very good and honest 'press release'. Hope he does well and his mental health issues are sorted.

but remember he does say this is all with one goal: q school 2019. To quote Andy, "you have to take 2 steps back" (ie bdo and opens) "to take 1 step forward" (ie pdc next year.).

Good luck to the Hammer. Came across as a nice bloke when I met him, even if he did cost me a few quid in that ridiculous match with Whitlock at Blackpool.
