Some great games to finish out the tournament, and what a classy 164 to end it from Anderson. I was really enjoying watching Cross play and finish, reminded me of the Worlds, but just went flat at the end as Gary ramped it up.

GARY ANDERSON claimed his sixth World Series of Darts title with a superb 8-4 comeback win over Rob Cross in the William Hill US Darts Masters final on Saturday at the Mandalay Bay Casino & Resort.
Two-time World Champion Anderson showed his class with a series of gritty performances as he took the £20,000 title and continued his global success with a first win in Las Vegas.
Anderson followed up his brilliant first round win over DJ Sayre by ending the hopes of Canadian youngster Dawson Murschell with an 8-5 quarter-final win, after trailing 3-2 early on.
He was also made to work hard in the semi-finals, avoiding defeat by the width of a wire against James Wade before prevailing in a deciding leg.
Wade led 6-2 before Anderson hit back to level, and the left-hander then moved 7-6 up only to miss double ten for a 140 checkout and victory, before the Scot levelled and took out 75 to snatch the win.
World Champion Cross made the early running in the final by taking a 3-0 lead, and also held a 4-1 advantage.
Anderson, though, punished missed doubles from his rival as he levelled in a run of seven legs as he stormed to victory, sealing the title with a stunning 164 checkout.
"I'm delighted," said Anderson. "I really had to work hard today but it's been a great event and the fans were fantastic.
"I've had three or four weeks off since the World Cup but I've played well this week and there's lots to look forward to now.
"James played well in the semi-finals and at the start of the game I missed loads of doubles that it was killing me, but I dug in and I got there.
"It was the same against Rob in the final. Once I got level with him I wanted to do what I do - score well."
Anderson added: "The players over here are getting better and better. I played DJ and hit one of those games where I played really well and he was still on my tail.
"Dawson stuck in against me, and he's on the ProTour now, he's going to learn a lot. Every year it's getting better, which is good."
Cross had won through to his first World Series of Darts final with impressive wins over Michael Smith and Peter Wright during Saturday's final day of action.
Smith played his part in an outstanding quarter-final, sharing the opening 12 legs before Cross pulled clear to win 8-6, with the pair landing seven maximums apiece.
Cross then overcame Peter Wright 8-3 in the semi-finals, but was denied the title by Anderson's amazing fightback.
"It was an amazing tournament," said Cross. "I felt great coming out this week and I played some good stuff. I missed a few shots in the final and I was my own enemy."
Wade had produced one of his most dominant displays on the World Series stage as he ended Michael van Gerwen's title defeat with an outstanding 8-3 quarter-final victory.
Wade led 5-0 before Van Gerwen hit back, but a crucial 161 stopped the world number one's fightback in its tracks as he moved into the last four.
Wright overcame 2017 US Masters finalist Daryl Gurney 8-6 in their quarter-final tie, avenging a narrow loss to the Northern Irish ace at the same stage a year ago.
The eight PDC stars, including Friday's first round victim Gerwyn Price, will now travel to China ahead of the next World Series of Darts event, the Shanghai Darts Masters, on July 13-14.

TAHUNA IRWIN will make his big stage debut at the Auckland Darts Masters, presented by TAB & Burger King, next month after winning through Monday's first qualifier in Invercargill.
Emerging New Zealander Irwin was the winner in the first of three qualifying events being held this week to complete the field for the PDC World Series of Darts event.
Irwin, who hails from Gisborne, will now line up against the likes of world number one Michael van Gerwen and World Champion Rob Cross at the Trusts Arena from August 3-5.
The youngster was the runner-up to Bernie Smith in the 2017 DPA Oceanic Masters, falling one game short of securing a William Hill World Darts Championship debut.

Anderson will now jet off to China for the two-day tournament which gets underway on Friday and the Scotsman is eyeing more global success.
"It would be brilliant now to back this up with a win in Shanghai," said Anderson, who has enjoyed World Series victories in Dubai, Auckland, Tokyo and Perth.
I can still knock heads with the best and I'm looking forward to this week.
"It's always nice to win and I've done well this year even though I'm not getting as much practice as the other players, which means I've been a bit inconsistent at times but it's going okay.
"I've had three or four weeks off since the World Cup but I've played well in Vegas and there's lots to look forward to now."
Anderson recorded wins over American DJ Sayre and Canada's Dawson Murschell en route to victory last weekend and the world number four praised the emergence of new players worldwide.
"I think in about ten years’ time, we'll see new players coming across on the circuit from all over the world," Anderson added.
I'll be retired by then but the other boys will be up for a hard time!
"The World Cup was a tell-tale sign of how the game is growing with countries like China, Japan and Thailand, you can see every year that they're getting better and better.
"It's the same in America too and you saw that with some of the North American qualifiers last week. Every country you go to now can play darts, so it's going to be an open book."
Anderson will be hoping for another World Series triumph as he looks to build momentum heading into the BetVictor World Matchplay later this month where he will face Stephen Bunting in the opening round.
World number one Michael Van Gerwen is the red-hot favourite with BetVictor to lift a third World Matchplay title at 4/6, while Anderson is the 7/1 joint second favourite to claim a maiden Blackpool crown alongside Cross.

XIAOCHEN ZONG, Yuanjun Liu, Chengan Liu and Lihao Wen have qualified for the 21.co.uk Shanghai Darts Masters to complete the field for the PDC World Series of Darts event.
The quartet came through Thursday's qualifiers in Shanghai to secure their places against eight of the sport's top stars at the Pullman Hotel Shanghai South.
They join fellow Asian Representatives Royden Lam, Seigo Asada, Lourence Ilagan and Hailong Chen in competing in the Shanghai Darts Masters.
Youngster Zong, who took part in the World Cup of Darts last month, also played in last year's Shanghai Darts Masters, where he met James Wade, and went on to compete in the World Championship.
Chengan Liu has also previously played at the World Championship, in 2006, and played in Shanghai 12 months ago, where he met Raymond van Barneveld in round one.
Yuanjun Liu met Phil Taylor in the inaugural Shanghai Darts Masters in 2016, and is a two-time World Cup of Darts representative for China, while Wen played in Shanghai two years ago, where he lost out to Van Barneveld.
Momo Zhou, the female star who competed alongside Zong at the World Cup last month, lost to Liu in the last 16 of the qualifiers, while former World Cup representatives Wenge Xie and Weihong Li reached the final round of matches.
The eight Asian Representatives will come up against the eight PDC stars in Friday's first round of the 21.co.uk Shanghai Darts Masters, which concludes on Saturday with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
The 21.co.uk Shanghai Darts Masters will be broadcast worldwide through the PDC's international broadcast partners, and through PDCTV-HD for Rest of the World subscribers (outside of UK, Ireland and Netherlands).
UK TV coverage on ITV4 is delayed to 8pm BST on each day.

The quartet came through Thursday's qualifiers in Shanghai to secure their places against eight of the sport's top stars at the Pullman Hotel Shanghai South.
They join fellow Asian Representatives Royden Lam, Seigo Asada, Lourence Ilagan and Hailong Chen in competing in the Shanghai Darts Masters.
Youngster Zong, who took part in the World Cup of Darts last month, also played in last year's Shanghai Darts Masters, where he met James Wade, and went on to compete in the World Championship.
Chengan Liu has also previously played at the World Championship, in 2006, and played in Shanghai 12 months ago, where he met Raymond van Barneveld in round one.
Yuanjun Liu met Phil Taylor in the inaugural Shanghai Darts Masters in 2016, and is a two-time World Cup of Darts representative for China, while Wen played in Shanghai two years ago, where he lost out to Van Barneveld.
Momo Zhou, the female star who competed alongside Zong at the World Cup last month, lost to Liu in the last 16 of the qualifiers, while former World Cup representatives Wenge Xie and Weihong Li reached the final round of matches.
The eight Asian Representatives will come up against the eight PDC stars in Friday's first round of the 21.co.uk Shanghai Darts Masters, which concludes on Saturday with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
The 21.co.uk Shanghai Darts Masters will be broadcast worldwide through the PDC's international broadcast partners, and through PDCTV-HD for Rest of the World subscribers (outside of UK, Ireland and Netherlands).

Career History:
Royden Lam is a familiar face to many darts fans having represented Hong Kong four times at the World Cup of Darts, reaching the quarter-finals in 2015 with wins over Wales & Ireland.
The current Asian Tour Order of Merit leader held a PDC Tour Card in 2013-14 and made his Alexandra Palace debut at the 2014 World Championship where he defeated Gino Vos in the preliminary round before losing to Wes Newton.
Lam, who starred in the 2016 and 2017 Shanghai Darts Masters, won back his Tour Card in January 2017 and qualified for the UK Open for the second time in March 2017, losing out to Ron Meulenkamp in round one.
Seigo Asada
Nickname: The Ninja
DOB: March 6, 1980
Darts Used: 19g Unicorn
Home town: Osaka, Japan
Nationality: Japanese
Career History:
Seigo Asada made his PDC debut at the 2016 Japan Darts Masters before qualifying for the 2018 World Championship where he won his preliminary game against Gordon Mathers before losing to eventual champion Rob Cross in round one.
The Japanese star represented his country at the 2018 World Cup of Darts alongside Haruki Muramatsu as the pair impressed to reach the quarter-finals where they were defeated by Scotland.
Asada currently sits third on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, claiming victory at Event Two in Seoul, South Korea in March.
Lourence Ilagan

Career History:

The Filipino has represented his country twice at the World Cup of Darts in 2012 and 2015 and currently sits in second place on the Asian Tour Order of Merit, having won back-to-back events in Macau in April.
