PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
If Cadby drops out, who's his replacement?
Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
Isn’t Hopp already qualified from his ET win earlier in year ?
So if he makes the final just moves him up the GSOD qualifying list rather than knock someone off the list.

Yes. Hopp getting to the final would have no impact on either King or Ratajski's qualifying position.malcy93 wrote:Isn’t Hopp already qualified from his ET win earlier in year ?

It’s not just Cross and Price but Hopp already qualified. Although Hopp is in a provisional slot with 2 below him ?
So still safe even with two outsiders getting to final here.

Yes. Very rare error from Burton. Hopp cannot be put out of a provisional spot regardless of who qualifies for the final.malcy93 wrote:Thanks. With only Hopp of the EC semi finalists already qualified at least one new qualifier for the Slam so King loses his place.

Absolutely not, as it is for Tour Card holders only. The Jolly Man wrote:And Ratty will not be able to play qualifier would he?phil davies wrote:If Ratty also loses his place it further shows the idiocy of the qualifying system. Don’t know what’s more odd, the fact as a non tour card holder Ratajski can qualify for the GSoD from winning tour events or that he cannot play in a qualifier as it’s for tour card holders only - pathetic and bizarre BDO esque...
Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
So, no Ratajski in the Grand Slam now, unless Cadby pulls out. Real shame, would have liked to see how he got on.

Good to see more players in it who have qualified via TV Events. Nevertheless King, Ratajski should still be in it

Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
JAMES WADE and Simon Whitlock have secured places in Wolverhampton next month after reaching the Unibet European Championship final on Sunday.
Wade, the 2010 and 2016 runner-up at the Wolves Civic, qualified for November's tournament at the Aldersley Leisure Village with a memorable triumph in Dortmund on Sunday.
Less than two weeks after becoming a father for the first time, Wade ended almost four years without a televised title as he scooped the £100,000 top prize at the European Championship.
The left-hander is now looking forward to returning to Wolverhampton for the Sky Sports-televised event from November 10-18.
"I've qualified for the Grand Slam now so it's a great feeling," said Wade.
"It's ticked a few boxes in my head. I've gone through my troubled times but I've shown that I'm dangerous and everyone needs to watch out."
Wade dedicated his European Championship success to new-born son Arthur, and admitted: "I've won TV titles before and I've never made the most of it. It's an amazing feeling."
Australian star Whitlock also secured qualification for the Grand Slam after reaching the European Championship final, where Wade denied him a second triumph in the event.
Players have a final chance to secure automatic qualification in next weekend's bwin World Series of Darts Finals in Vienna, before eight players come through the last-chance qualifier for PDC Tour Card Holders on November 5.
The bwin Grand Slam of Darts will be held from November 10-18 at the Aldersley Leisure Village.

Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
Would think so, as Floor qualifier is on Monday. I know at the moment it doesn't make a difference as Ratajski cannot play in qualifier, but should we have 1 or 2 players non qualified players getting to the final of the WSOD, we would have the ridiculous situation of Hopp or White playing the qualifier, but still with the potential to qualify by right if Cadby pulls out after Monday.ChrisW wrote:I presume Cadby will need to confirm if he is attending this week.
In that situation, and Hopp/White are one of the 8 floor qualifiers, who would get Cadby's place.

In the WSOD Finals all 8 seeds plus 3 of the other 16 (Price, White and Wade) already qualified so unlikely to see 1 let alone 2 non qualified finalists. However would have said same about the EC.
