Not good for the BDO IMO their two best players in Durrant and Mitchell have probably drawn the toughest groups. Would only predict Durrant and Unterbuchner to get out of their groups. Though others have a decent chance aswell.

On a positive for Durrant if he gets through that group he is in the much easier half of the draw. In fact everyone in that half should be licking their lips and targeting the final as a realistic chance.

Really looking forward to this anyway probably my 3rd favorite tournement,

Durrant has a tough draw - Price the fav and between Whitlock and Duzza - if they both play their best game it will be a coin flip.

Surely this is Mitchell's best chance to get out the group?? Two guys who have had to go through the qualifiers and a player who isn't playing well currently...

Good chance for BDO players no doubt. I think at least 4 will go through. The field looks a little weak this year and not many big players are in form.
Could be a surprise result ala Scott Waites this year.
I would NOT be betting against Duzza. Got a feeling about his chances this week.

Sully is still one of the best players in the world and Bunting probably the worst player to draw in the second group other than Price. Schindler also must be on a high after reaching the youth final. Very tough group to call but I would back Mensur and Bunting to get out of it.

All groups are tough but on the face of it Mitchell should fancy his chances. He owes Bunting one for last year! Plus in the last 4 x editions of the GSoD only 9 of 27 from the PDC qualifier have got out the group...

Robson, Harms and Williams have a chance to go through 2nd in poor groups.

Smith-Neale the least likely IMO and I also wouldn't fancy Unterbuchner or McGeeney.

Durrant is 50/50 and Mitchell about 65/35 against.

Mitchell v Schindler will be fun to watch just for the sheer difference in size.

Some very close groups and i'd expect a lot of 5-4's

Group F is right stinker, can't see Mensur in group G losing any in the group.

Just looking at the groups, think the BDO players are up against it. Best chances of going through for me are Durrant, as he is such a good player he could easily win 2 of his 3 matches, Wesley Harms and McGeeney. In fairness the one with the best draw imo is Robson, but just can't see him raising his game sufficiently to have any chance.

I don't suppose it will happen but I can see 7 of the BDO players possibly getting out of their groups...Smith -Neale is the one least likely ...but all the others have decent possibilities at the group stage level..

MVG, Anderson, Wright & especially James lucky Wade have extremely nice groups, expect them all to qualify with a game to spare.

Certainly Groups B, F, G & H hold the interest levels for me.

Mitchell and durrant biggest chance for me.

I'm a bit surprised by all these people thinking Mitchell has a good chance actually. I think it's quite a tough group. Mensur is one of the world's better players, Bunting has the ability and experience and is getting back into some form and Schindler has gained quite some stage experience this year, regularly getting to the last 16 of eurotour events. Mitchell has got his work cut out for him as far as I'm concerned.
