Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
Murnan threw that away, credit to Robbo who in the last few legs seemed to be throwing the darts harder and was rewarded with good scoring.
Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
Fully expecting Webster v Harms to be the worst match of the tournament.
Not only poor, declining players, but poor throwing actions to boot.

Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
Got to say I'm actually warming to Gerwyn Price these days...and he is a far better player than I originally gave him credit for..
Glad Unterbuchner won..I rate him as a player and players like Steve Hine, no disrespect are players he should beat week in week out should he ever switch..I expected him to win that..
Gary Robson may be very up and down but I would pick him to beat Joe Murnan nearly every match so not a surprise there but he definitely made meal of it..
Strange to see players like Hine and Murnan in the Grand Slam to be honest...I know they have to have qualifiers now it's ranked..the PDPA insist..but I'd have 4 instead of 8 to be sure

The reality is if it were not for the likes of pdc floor qualifiers like Muffin man, Joe Murnan and Mark Webster, the bdo would struggle to get wins.
If Adrian Lewis, Daryl Gurney and Chizzy for example were there instead of hime, webster and murnan, the bdo would not be getting out of their groups

But didn’t Hine, Webster and murnan qualify from the same competition that Lewis, gurney and chizzy entered??

Unspectacular game there between Webster and Harms, can ASN make it a clean sweep?

Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
Smith-Neale should have sealed the deal in that deciding leg, but in all fairness, Barney could have, should have won that match 5-0.Wubbalubbadubdub wrote:Lucky lucky Barney, ASN with a fantastic chance to win but fluffed it.
That being said Raymond looking a shadow of the player he was, and frankly don't see him getting through the group.

Correct. But I think gary's point is you have a floor type qualifier and floor type players sometimes make it. A guy has a good day and is in the gsod.ChrisW wrote:Kyeavfc wrote:Garry Murphy wrote:The reality is if it were not for the likes of pdc floor qualifiers like Muffin man, Joe Murnan and Mark Webster, the bdo would struggle to get wins.

When watching the profiles it was interesting to see bdo players ranked 1-7? (apart from the guy ranked 80?) playing against pdc guys ranked 70 etc.
basically you have the cream of the bdo (re rankings or winning an event) but you don't in the pdc.
BT I am enjoying tonight. Great event.

Well in again Wadey
Thinking of one.
Re: PDC Grand Slam of Darts- 10th-18th November 2018- Wolverhampton
I think everyone on the forum believes the criteria should be amended, the qualifier should range between 1 and 8 places available... I don’t know but would Lewis, gurney or chizzy have qualified by winning a pro tour event? If not then do we just say top 16 Pdc players automatically qualify?devosteve wrote:Correct. just watched the big robbo game (after soccer viewing) say all you want but to come back from that shows grit no matter who your playing, yes murnan should have won but you take your chances as they say

.
The fact is outside of durrant beating whitlock, every other single win the bdo got was against a pdc player not even in the top 40.
3 of those players were not even in the top 60.
When the top players of the bdo meet the top players of the PDC the pdc win, year in year out
