Definitely not worse than a few years ago when they ran two qualifiying events...

Williams is consistently averaging over 90 and could win a game or two.

If Robson plays like he did in the last 16 and quarters of The World Masters again he could win a game or two, certainly be competitive.

Harms has played well at the GSoD before despite not really playing that well this year on tv or streamed events that I've watched.

McGeeney will be better for the experience last year and Mitchell every year has put in one great performance but then lost a winner takes all match - will be interesting to see if he can put that right this year and get through the group.

Unterbuchner and Smith-Neale won't be fazed either, they seem two guys who will relish going on the GSoD stage rather than be like rabbits in headlights.

And of course Duzza, well we know he'll be fine!!!

Is simply being "BDO World Number 7" enough to get you in these days then?
Or is it just Big Robbo's turn to get the "Loyalty Invite"?

Duzza takes three places as World Champion, World Trophy winner and number 2 ranked so they go down the rankings. If Smith-Neale hadn't won The World Masters they'd have gone down another place and Veenstra would have made it.

Didn't Monty qualify as 7th ranked last year?

Fair enough. They've dicked about with the qualifying criteria for this so much in the past, I stopped paying attention ages ago.

To be fair the criteria has been the same for 3 years now ( ?) and it's the best for sure - at least with the rankings you should get players who have by and large played well over the year and should be in form...

Indeed. If being 7th is enough to get you in, then he's there on merit, I just wasn't aware that would have been enough to qualify

They have just announced the players for their biggest event of the year.
I am sure the Worlds will be dealt with in due course.

Hard to argue, one has the venue confirmed, prize fund confirmed, TV confirmed and now players confirmed whereas the other.........

It's only the biggest event in the BDO calender

Plays on the stage like he does on floor tournaments then very dangerous and im sure nobody would be happy drawing him at the GSOD

You could say the same about many people.
If they cant produce it in front of a camera that's their problem.
