Im trying to compare a competition ruined by the worst weather in modern day history, to BDO Majors which have poor attendance, because of a complete disinterest by the general darts fans.

An actual disgrace if this is actually true. He won it, he should get in. In the past if a switcher qualified from lakeside/Masters they didnt have to forfeit their place so Ratty shouldnt have to either.
I thought the 8 BDO spaces are allocated at the discretion of the BDO not PDC. So it’s the BDO being vindictive.
They have changed their minds seemingly annually over last few years how they are allocated.
I am sure the BDO knew they couldn’t blacklist Bunting even though switched as the PDC wouldn’t accept the BDO names unless current Lakeside champion included. With Masters and WDT is less clear cut.
Hasn’t the WDT winner only qualified in recent years anyway as they used to take Lakeside finalists over last 2 years and Champions back 5 years historically so much more Lakeside focused.

Its the PDC's event, they can tell the BDO they only have 7. Or is that being far too simplistic?

Since he may qualify through another route via the PDC,and no longer plays BDO, I can entirely understand why they have not included him as one of their qualifiers. It is possible that the 8 BDO players actually have to be playing BDO in that season now. Before it was entirely up to the PDC who they invited, now they say they want 8 BDO players - Ratajski isn't one!
Funny that the Lakeside runner-up doesn't get a place guaranteed this year!
