There arent going to be many in the top 64 of the one year list who wont have made it to the Worlds. Cant be arsed checking but I would wager it is four or less.DavidB wrote:ssjsa wrote:Here is the draw for the Players Championship Final in Minehead next month.
How many of these players have not yet made the world champs and thus might have to go from Somerset to Milton Keynes the next day to qualify??

Blimey. Stand corrected then.
In any case they would have to make it to the Last 8 in Minehead for it to be any kind of an issue.

Re: PDC Players Championship 2018
KRZYSZTOF RATAJSKI joined an exclusive club of ProTour weekend double-event winners with his Players Championship victories last weekend.
Ratajski secured back-to-back titles with wins over Chris Dobey and Adrian Lewis in the finals of Players Championships 21 and 22 respectively in Barnsley, and has now joined an illustrious list of 12 players to have achieved the feat.
Adrian Lewis, then aged just 20, became the first player to win two titles in a weekend in 2005 and was quickly followed by 16-time World Champion Phil Taylor in the same year.
Taylor's prolific form on the ProTour saw him record an incredible 13 double-weekend triumphs from 2005 to 2012, while two-time World Champion Gary Anderson has also done it twice.
World number one Michael van Gerwen took it a step further in 2016 by completing a sensational mid-week treble, and Ratajski's achievement last weekend meant four players achieved a double-win in a year for the first time since 2009.

Re: PDC Players Championship 2018
Just looking at some Players Championship stats on darts connect
only 1 of the 22 Players Championships this season had a total average for the day of under 90
Players Championship 18 was lowest with an average of 89.2
Highest was Players Championship 2 and 19 which had a Average of 91.9
Average for the whole Players Championship this year was 90.8
Best Average - MVG - 100.56 for the year (42 Matches)
Worst Average - Colin Osborne -72.77 (Only played 1 game)
Worst Average playing minimum of 10 games - Ross Twell - 79.95 (27 Matches)
5 Players ended the season with an Average of under 80 - Osborne, Mark Frost, Stuart Kellet, Harry Ward and Ross Twell
79 Players ended the season with an Average of over 90
Most 180s - Adrian Lewis 231
Only 3 players played a game without hitting a 180 - Osborne, Kellet and Mathew Dennant
37 Players managed a 170 Checkout
Only 5 players didnt manage a ton plus checkout - Barrie Bates, Ronnie Baxter, Sven Groen, Kellet and Osborne
Most matches played - Lewis with 85 (won 63, lost 22)
17 Players played less than 10 games
Best win % - MVG 91% (42 played, 38 won)
Worst Win % - Sven Groen 0% (16played, 16 lost) - In the 2 Years Groen has had a tour card hes only won money in 3 out of 44 Players Championships.
Total of 157 players took part this year, dont know how up or down that was with entry fees scrapped. Dont think a single event had all 128 tour card holders with no reserves taking part.
