As I read it, de Zwaan told the reason in an interview with RTL7. That tweet or the thread below does not seems to give the reasion, it wasn't shoulder treatment as it seems? Dutch is a ghastly mix of (low) German and English, I was more used to reading it when I lived at the border back in the day...

Reckon Mensur will slow Gary down, mess with his head and make it a game of doubling rather than scoring. Every match this week so far has been played at a fast pace for Gary. Mensur at 10/3 looks some value

Really looking forward to the final, will be interesting to see if Mensur's style will get to Gary. Mensur must be horrible to play against with all the snatched darts. Just like playing against Jocky Wilson back in the day

Excited for the final. It's all about how Gary can handle the Suljovic 'act'. Mensur plays dumb, and acts like he doesn't understand at times, but you'd better believe he knows how to get an advantage around the oche. Mind games.

Gary seems to really hate the Suljovic action, they're absolute chalk and cheese in terms of throw/speed/style and natural ability and i think Gary believes Mensur isn't worthy of matching him and when he does it makes Gary falter.

I've no actual evidecne of this, just how it appears to me when they have played or spoken about it.

If Gary just throws and throws close to his best he walks it. If Mensur grinds him down a level I think it could be a thriller.

It must get annoying seeing a player throw with such a poor action, legs flailing mid throw, slow, irritable habits.

Miracle at times the darts land where he aims, it's not natural and against someone who makes it effortless, smooth and look sinple, I must get frustrating keep seeing the darts hit.

Great post, it's exactly what I think. I think if Gary treated this like an exhibition match(with the time in between throws) he could win it easy. As long as he dosen't start rushing up to the oche after Mensur has thrown.

Mensur played less legs and been on stage an hour longer, we could be in for a long slow night here.
