This is perfectly fine and doesn't objectify a woman at all

I will have a nibble.

My daughter does cheerleading and street dancing, enters loads of comps and wins (thankfully). Wears clothes that are appropriate to the performance. Now she loves doing both of those.

She is not escorting males on to stages in skimpy dresses, she is dancing and showing off her hard learned skills, just like all dancers do.

if you cannot differentiate between the two then thats your problem not mine.

As for Ifm's comment, Erika Lust makes porn films that celebrate sex they dont objectify women like some of those porn sites that have categories such as, tiny teens, just 18, punished teens etc do.

NIBBLE.

If my daughter was to be proud of the fact that she looks good and thinks escorting males on to stages in front of leering crowds is a hard learned talent, then I would not be agreeing with her but I would be respecting her right to do that.

I will bow to you superior knowledge on that one Col :)

So scantily clad cheerleaders and pom pom dancers at a men's football or ice hockey event are there because of their artistic integrity and not for the men in the crowd to ogle at, got it.

Maybe we should ask the darts walk on girls to strip down to a boob tube and hot pant and then do a little dance, then they would be considered as artistic according to Col and would no longer be out of a job.

It's odd how some people keep labeling the walk on girls "scantily clad", do they have a problem with women wearing nice dresses? Would they be happier if they were covered fully in a burka?

At Wigan athletic they had (not sure now not been for a few years) a cheer leaders team called the 'Latics ladies'.

anyway there was some pre match stuff going on outside the ground (penalty shootout etc). The girls came out to do their routine.

The announcer introduced them as thus: "welcome to the latics ladies, sponsored by burger king".

I laughed. Was this banter or sexxist drivel that needs eradicating?
