Crowd paying tribute to the Silverback after, a nice touch.

What happened to Hopp last year? What has changed cause his upwards trajectory seems to be taking off currently

Well done Max Hopp, chuffed to bits for him. Class act, and the huge German crowd were just loving it, awesome to see and so good for the sport.

No idea why Smith didn't stay on the stage at the end, hasn't he won four of these before? Had Phil Taylor done that we'd never have heard the end of it!

Love Smith as a dart player but off the board appears to be a bit of an idiot. Attitude is awful, was horrible to see him walk off stage tonight.
Hopp was by no means excellent but some serious timing throughout the day. Full of bottle.

I thought Hopp played great , the crowd were always gonna be 110% supporting Hopp and trying to put Smith off, but Smiths played in front of massive premier league crowds and been fine. Don’t know what his issue was but it looked extremely disrespectful to the hosts and sponsors.

I think that's two fines in the past week for misjudged comments on twitter.

Sensational stuff from Hopp, everyone knew he had the talent but seems like he is building the temperament now, holding his nerve and throwing his best darts when it really mattered. The 121 against Cross and a 12 darter in a decider was classy stuff, right in the centre bull too...then repeats it against Smith...unreal! Looks like the only way is up now for Hopp and German darts in general.
