RAYMOND SMITH has secured a debut at the William Hill World Darts Championship from the DPA Australian Pro Tour rankings.

Smith, who impressed at the Brisbane Darts Masters last month, secured an unassailable lead at the top of the DPA Order of Merit by winning Friday's opening event of the season's final weekend.

Smith overcame fellow Queenslander Gordon Mathers 6-2 in Friday's final, having also seen off Rob Modra and Laurie Loch in the final stages.

The weekend at the Brook Hotel in Brisbane continues on Saturday and Sunday with Events 17 and 18 to complete the DPA's Harrows Pro Tour season.

THE 2018 DartPlayers Australia Pro Tour season has concluded with wins for Tim Pusey and Mark Smyth in Brisbane.

The year's final weekend on the Australian circuit had begun on Friday with a victory for Raymond Smith as he ensured top spot on the Order of Merit and a William Hill World Darts Championship spot.

Saturday's Event 17 saw Mark Smyth claim his first victory on the DartPlayers Australia circuit, defeating James Bailey 6-4 in the final.

Smyth (above) enjoyed a 6-3 win over Smith in the quarter-finals, and also saw off Bill Aitken and Rob Modra in the final stages.

Sunday's Event 18 also saw a first-time winner on the DPA Circuit as Pusey (main image) overcame Robbie King 6-4 in the final.
