Scottish Open Last 16 Ladies

Post by Ginge »

Played best of 7 (so first to 4 legs)....except for one of the matches.

Seems that one of the lady players got to 3-1 up and then was adamant she has won and refused to play on .

After some heated arguing the officials decided to put her through!

The Players Director was nowhere to be seen.

Anyone want to take a wild stab in the dark which of the 8 Ladies quarter finalists I am talking about?

:D

Of course it will, they weren't going to put 3-1 were they? Bowed to pressure.

Oche didn't really win a leg against Ken McNeil either yet it's there in the records :D

I don't believe for a moment Paula would throw a strop. She's seems such a nice person.

BDO rules also state the Last 16 of this event had to be played over best of 7 given what category it is, she had absolutely no basis for her actions.

What basis do we have of proof this actually happened?

I don't understand her issue if this happened.
The rules are the rules, surely.
Not that it mattered really, she got trounced in the next round.

It matters because this is how she gets into lakeside- getting to qtr finals of every tournament in the world picking up points without actually playing anyone decent.

Good point.
I am therefore outraged by the accusations.
Fully expecting some sort of investigation.

Someone should email the Disciplinary Director and tell him.

I'm sure gossip isn't grounds for anything.
"it's the same trolls spouting the same crap every other post.... you have to be some kind of sad act to watch nearly 8 hours of darts a day for 9 days just to post about how crap it is"

I suppose it depend whether before they played they were told first to three and/or if the referee called game shot and match when she won her third, if either of those happened then I don't blame her tbh.
