Amusing video on there with most of the players involved.

Warning for WhitlockFan or whatever he is called - it has a swear word in it, so maybe ask your mummy first to see if she will let you watch it.

EDIT - PP breaking this news before the PDC, rather than at the same time.
It's on the PDC site.
Is now. PP put it on Facebook even before the PDC did their "announcement of an announcement" Tweet. Methinks someone jumped the gun.
Perhaps as new sponsor they asked to be first.

They are new to darts sponsorship.
Maybe they don't realise the correct way to deal with these things is to announce your announcement before you actually make an announcement announcing your announcement. Or something.

They are not new. Sponsored the World Grand Prix in the past.

I wonder who approached who about returning as a major title sponsor.

Are there any figures for the amount of sums bet on various sports in the UK ?

How the hell are Whitlock and Chisnall in this? Done nothing of note in living memory. Well, Chisnall's memory anyway.

They are still in top 8 of OOM.

Michael Smith and Wade were very close to going above them.
Problem is Wade in particular had really gone of the boil in last few events. He had the blow out at Matchplay (where a couple of wins would have got him a place at CLOD) and similar for Euro Tour.

Chisnall has a lot to defend over £100k so a 1/3 of his OOM ranking in remainder of year as he went deep in the Grand Prix, Worlds and in particular made final of Players Championship Finals.

So unless he does something in tournaments this is where he starts to slide rapidly down the OOM.

Paddy Power odds outright:

MVG 4/5
Anderson 4/1
Cross 7/1
Wright 15/2
Suljovic 10/1
Chisnall 25/1
Gurney/Whitlock 33/1

I wouldn't worry too much. Instead of thinking what he has to defend, the more pertinent question is how much will he add? Many will get a shock I think.

Nothing classic about that. If you want classic darts quotes read Jim Bowen's book "The day I stretched the Bullseye"
