He needs to ask the BDO.

That crossed my mind.

There was a lad who played in a televised snooker comp a year or two back who played without a bookie patch on his waistcoat as he was underage. Sponsors wouldn't be bothered as the publicity of a young player doing well is worth more than one patch.
Yup, Jackson Page. Has played more than once in a World Snooker event if I remember. Hence why its creating an issue that doesnt exist.

And that was as recently as March, not even last year.

Its the only reasonable conclusion I can make.

Forget that, have you seen the wording about associate members? Must be an error?
It's not changed.
So why have they accepted the entries of Atkins, Newton et al?
The PDC forced players to go to q school, looks like the BDO haven't updated theirs but in fairness it should be like this as Wes could play a pro tour this year which is what the rule is trying to avoid.
Forced? At gunpoint?

But when I brought this up in December everyone said it wouldnt change a thing and the BDO would just carry on as normal.

This is the BDO saying they dont want associate members at their major events.
The rule hasn't changed, they never did!
It's the PDC that have created this situation.
Yes Im well aware the PDC created this issue but everyone said the BDO wouldn't block associates from playing events just because they went to Qschool, they would just keep it how they originally had it where it only effected people at Lakeside.

This is the opposite, now you cant do both full stop as This rules means you can play in the major as an associate so you cant play in the qualifiers.............and if the same rule is in the worlds you cant play in the Cat A,B or C events either.
The situation is completely changed by the PDC, 1. forcing players to attend q school and 2. using the CT OOM to fill gaps in the pro tour.
So the associate ruling now must be enforced whereas before it didn't matter much.
I am typing this out wrong or something?

Im well aware its the PDC that did this, im not disputing that.

My point is everyone said the BDO wouldn't enforce any rule stopping associates playing both and they would carry on only stopping people at lakeside.

By having this rule in (whether its new, old and previously ignored or anything) the BDO is now stopping people who went to Qschool, 4 months after the players made a choice.

So either the rule is worded wrong, in but still not being enforced, or the likes of Deano and Newton and going to have to be kicked out of the qualifier.
This looks like a specific rule to the WDT as in the main table rules eligibility doesn't exclude associate members , yet the WDT rules quote full and associate members .

Just looked where Tony O'Shea is in the rolling table. Wasn't a million miles off an automatic spot.

The rules would look plain bizarre if he has qualified as of right. It's clearly an error in them, though.

It's at odds with everything else, so I'd be amazed if it wasn't just (another) cock-up. Be bizarre if you were eligible to play in all the events that could qualify for the event, but not the event itself!

No I read it as an event rule 3(b) on WDT rules
BDO inv criteria rules are different so able to play in A+ , A's or any other Wes played Scotland and IOM , Dean IOM

Nah, the only thing that would make Wes/Dean et al ineligible now is if they played in a Pro Tour (or a ET?).
