Hearn trolling the WDT now :D

http://www.live-darts.com/category/dart ... 0605-0001/
"The sadness for me has always been that the Lakeside is being called the World Professional Darts Championship," said Hearn.

"I think that's disrespectful to punters.

"That's the only reason I tried to buy them really, I just wanted to make sure I owned that title!

"I was hearing some bad stories about last week [World Darts Trophy] that there were only 50 people in the crowd.

"I heard it was eight thousand pounds to the winner. I just don't know what you do.

"I'm just so glad I didn't give them two million quid because it would have been a terrible waste of money."

Interesting comments then he says

Maybe he just thinks the price tag he put on it was too much.

£1,000 for each county probably a much more realistic sum...

he said he wanted to buy the BDO to own its title, then goes on to say it would be a waste of money and still moans about the BDO using World

It's blatantly obvious. He said the only reason for his offer was the "professional" title. Then he admitted it would have been a waste of money, and he's glad he didn't do it. Or do you think the "professional" title is worth 2 millions?

So he wanted to buy the BDO for the title, got knocked back and is moaning about the title and then goes "Its a waste of money"

No he said £2m would have been a waste.

£67k tops, imo.

"When I was walking around Preston I didn't see one poster. I saw posters for Roy Chubby Brown and other events coming up, but none for the darts. I got a taxi to the event and the driver asked me where I was going. When I told him I was a darts player he didn't know the event was on.

Had that in Hasselt every year with the Euros. They never know what darts is or the event is on.

Zero sympathy for durrant. I like the guy but it's not like he stayed because of false promises. He needs to stop whinging and laugh all the way to the bank with his winnings from lakeside.

Didn't move to where the big crowds are. He needs to get over it. He made the choice to play in front of the wdt size of crowds.
