A thought: if the 2 ladies who qualify for pdc wc are also at lakeside and are NOT sanctioned (which i think they shouldn't be) will this force the bdo to not penalise the men (thus the contracts not issued )?

How can you sanction men but not women? (I get the pdc are not putting a ladies wc on).

And surely the uproar would be unbelievable if they did ban the ladies?

pdc have played a blinder.

I think this is great news. So many pluses.

More tickets sold. No rip off secondary site.

more opportunities for players around the world. And more oversees players mean more TV viewers from around the world.

A reward to tour card holders.

What's not to like.

Hearn has confirmed on Twitter he can't see an issue on the PDC side concerning two women making themselves ineligible for the Women's Lakeside tournament, so any issue would be from Uncle Des and company (if any)...

Not offended. Just surprised that the reigning champ would do this. Like I said; it's like the bdo folk are still in the tap room of a 1970's pub.

And here it is!

Rod Studd @Rod_Studd
If the BDO allow their best 2 women to play, it’ll be a brilliant move to promote women’s darts and encourage more to play the game. That has to be a good thing Chris.

Chris Mason @Chris180Mason 12m
Absolutley, however I am hearing that the BDO will not allow them to compete in both, missing a huge opportunity if they go down that road.

Would be very short sighted for the BDO to try to stop them, if true.

Threats etc is the only weapon they have in their armoury now. Sad.

I think it would be fair that if you qualify for the world championship, you shouldn’t play in both. I think most will agree with that. However, anyone losing out in qualifying shouldn’t be penalised. That would be just cruel.

What difference is it between an associate PDPA member attempting to qualify through the ProTour rankings route, because all tournaments rank onto the Ally Pally race, than playing in a one off qualifier.

There are plenty of Male players in the regional qualifiers attempting to qualify for both, why should females be treated differently?

Presumably the first round will see the 32 pro tour players down one side of the draw and then the 32 “international “ players down the other?

Do they?

If they were playing in both men's events you would be right. But they arent.

Great news... I personally don't think there will be an issue with the early rounds selling well.. (not saying they will be sold out, but will attract the Christmas party crowds) do's anyone know the draw format for the first round, is it going to be open draw or 32 oom vs 32 international, personally would like it to be open draw 1st round.

Will the BDO let a woman play in 2 world championships when they don't let men play in 2?

Now that Challenge tour carries a World Championship spot will they stop Challenge Tour players playing in BDO ranking events have they have done with the 128 card holders and anyone who plays on Pro Tour?

Why is it more fodder for the elite?? Don't the top 32 players have to play the same amount of games as 2018 tournament?
