Just noticed this on the BDO website - maybe Paul can confirm, and if they are cancelled, why? Expect bookings to Turkey to soar!!

Yet another shambles from the disgraced England Darts organisation. Sling em out and start again.

Where is Englands PR man, the white knight of ladies darts? He's quiet on this debacle!

Ahh so it's the PDC's fault. FFS are you after Paul's job?

Just a thought. Maybe the pdc are using that date for the ladies qualifying for ally pally? Thus they have contacted the edo seeing that it is already in the diary for the ladies to attend.

would be very interesting if so. Paul not able to comment until pdc release the news?

Disregard what the Pratt London Eye posts I will tell you the reasons why this is cancelled .
One point to remember all England darts involvement with this event is that they apply for the points , there has never been a single penny cost to England darts and it’s members .
Paul Brown and Myself are solely responsible for this and have paid out £18,000 in 2 years .
We had a choice of 2 venues for this year and the same brewery sponsor as the first year , we have been asking for confirmation of the sponsorship for a while now , however the sponsor was reticent to do this with the current indecision in the BDO , we couldn’t even inform them where the WC was if televised etc etc , we pressed them to commit and set a deadline , despite saying the sponsorship could still happen we were not prepared to risk our money as not all sponsors input plus players booking up travel etc .
Last year late venue switch happened and as some players had booked hotel away from new venue we paid their transfer costs to new venue .
Talks already going ahead for an event next year hopefully if the BDO has good news in August and a long term tv deal is agreed the event can happen again .
Personally with the current indecision surrounding the BDO it will need some positive news to turn situation around .
We kept organizers of Turkey open informed of our plans .

You are so right and I nominate you to be leader of the org , you could cover all the positions in the company with your multiple accounts and even have the casting vote in a close call .
Why admin say IFM was a one trick pony and rejoice when he left , yet stay quiet when you post repetitive drivel ceases to amaze me , or they are so desperate for traffic on here they allow your bullshite.

So it's the BDO's fault!!!!! What a crock of crap. What has this got to do with whether the Worlds is televised or not? I will answer for you, NOTHING. Pathetic excuse, another calamity, another disgrace. Take a leaf out of the Tournament Directors book and resign.

No I’m blaming the sponsor failing to commit to the event , we were not prepared to put darters money at risk , the Bdo indecision hasn’t helped but at end of the day it’s our call.
I will add that Des asked would a different date suit us and was prepared to assist that , but very few who came to our event went to turkey open .
