2 arguments I guess.

less than 6,000 shows it was a waste of time and money. How many would have been new fans? Maybe it didn't cost any money so what was there to lose?

Or you could argue England darts need to start somewhere and build on the 6,000.

6k is the highest it could have been. It could have been a zero rated programme for all we know.

My view: maybe the edo need to put getting TV coverage on the back shelf, at least for the time being.

wait until they see what happens re the bdo this August?

Why?

They've said that the TV costs were met by extra sponsorship so as long as they are happy and the TV company are happy then it was a success.

Seriously though is it?

What's been gained? More TV experience I guess. New fans added:doesn't seem so, even the fanatics didn't watch it in enough numbers.

Is there a negative aspect? Maybe such low figures will further dent morale. And those figures won't make bigger and better TV channels sit up and think they want a slice of this.

I think this is how they have presented it when really it will have been a play on words as to the actual situation.

I should imagine the real truth is that certain sponsors won't sponsor or provide funds to an event unless it is shown on television.

I suspect the real figure is nearer Zero than it is the 6k.
They can spout the till was up, happy with the numbers and all the usual prepared excuses, but the reality is the lack of viewers shows the lack of interest.

No one cares about the edo/bdo rubbish there days except family members and people on forums who claim to be fans,
i am so sorry for my actions these last ten years, i'm going through a tough time

Always get a reasonable crowd at Selsey , you do get quite a good number of non dart players attending though who are staying on site , next weekends 6 nations will be interesting to see how many attend as there will be only 48 players there.
Welsh open is normally the best crowd of the uk opens then I would say England then Scotland . Best by a way is the Dutch open .
Haha! Paul didnt quote properly! Hahahahaha!! :WWWW: :WWWW:
