folk on here slag the ladies darts off to high heaven when its on telly, as soon as there at ally pally its the best thing since sliced bread, my view is playing against better quality opposition regular basis would raise most peoples game to a better standard than where they were previously at, she did good shes head & shoulders or tresemme above anyone in that lakeside womens field & could very easily hold her own against the men of pdc rank 20/90 land, she can play the pdc off here ,do there tour full time whilst keep mopping up womens world tittles on a regular basis

People slag off shit games being on TV for the sake of equality.
Lisa deserves to be there, is she in the best 96 players in the world? Id say yes and thus qualifies her place.
The problems is past the 4 or 5 players the ladies game is nowhere near good enough, the stats from the ladies qualifier proved that and we go from Ladies having 2 good figureheads giving the ladies game good exposure to the first week in January where your going to see 50 averages for the sake of it.
if anything it proves Barrys point all along, if the Ladies are good enough they should be competing on the highest stage with the men.

No idea. He is regularly playing games over BO11 though, were as the women are lucky if the usual fare on the tour is BO7. Even the Masters is BO7 ffs.

And Ashton's likely to be playing only 4 or 5 legs in a best of 7.
She might have tailed off a bit, but I think we saw more that Dekker got going well enough that Ashton couldn't get away with her slips the way she usually can against other female players.
No ridiculous notions of it being because of tactics. She played on the good side of her average overall, and Dekker played just well enough after a really shaky start to win. Had Dekker been 1 darts worse, as he was in the Players Finals, Ashton would have more chances and I think she'd have won.
Maybe she's wishing she drew Schindler.

They could first lengthen the semi-final. If you have Ashton v Sherrock, Dobromyslova v Winstanley 5 set semi-finals should be OK, with most legs 18 darts.

mardle said on sky - ashton had to get use to the pdc breaks - different set up - we saw that at the gsod - bdo lads struggle first day - then match the pdc on the same turf - the pdc set up is easier to master - anyone can flick in big average - lakeside is harder - which is why andy hamilton is great - he mastered both - some like gary anderson only master one code -

This is some turgid stuff De Sousa v Barnard. Horrible action from Barnard and he seems to think he's Gezzy Price.

Horrible game at 2-0 to Barnard. De Sousa isn't far of and if he gets back into this and takes it to 2-2 I think Barnard will pass out on the stage.

Surprised his game didn't tail off with the lack of opportunity to play games over any considerable distance.DavidOwen67 wrote: ↑Fri Dec 14, 2018 1:22 pmLast night against Lisa Ashton.
Before that it was the Ally Pally last year.

Dutch commentary mentioning it is obvious both men are not used to playing over these longer distances
