Maverick wrote: Thu Dec 20, 2018 7:47 am The whole demeanour of Wade during that celebration was aggression , the clenched fist as though cocked and ready, the lunge towards Asada , the verbal intimidation, all out of order and looks awful. I’ve played in places where that kind of move would get you bottled!

As for the jingoistic shite he spouted in the interview, does he think we’re at war with Japan?

Asada treated James with absolute respect and received that back. Absolute disgrace, obviously not bad enough for exclusion , Lewis had a guy by the neck and was allowed to finish the tournament, but no doubt the DRA will be involved.
After what the PDC and Hearn said after the Price game the other week you would expect a player to be banned from an event.

Have the PDC given the referees powers to give legs/sets/matches to opponents yet?

Former player Wayne Mardle, working as a pundit, described Wade's behaviour as 'thuggish' and said there was no place in darts for it.

'Does he mean he wanted to punch him in his face? What does he mean? I'm absolutely lost for words,' Mardle told Sky Sports.

'That's just not on. The intimidation, overly aggressive, I hope he wakes up in the morning and thinks, 'I've made a mistake there'.

'He can't think that's right and no-one watching it can think it's right. That's thuggish behaviour, there's no place in darts for that.'

You wouldn’t see him do that to Taylor, MvG, Price, Lewis etc. No, go after the Japanese lad...

Just throw wade out for being a complete knobhead. Tempers get frayed on the oche and sometimes it goes overboard in the heat of battle but Wade and his comments in a completely different environment were out of order. As someone else said jingoistic shite I would call it racist shite and if darts condones that as someone else has commented that it was a great headline grabber for the PDC then I for one will not be parting with my hard earned to support such crap. BTW complete admiration for Asada - what a guy , complete gentleman

I watched it and whilst agree Wade shouldn't be getting in an opponents face,at that moment of snatching a set out of defeat an outburst like that can happen. Credit to the Jap for staying calm . A fine will deservedly follow but it's hardly the international incident some are crying about. Personally I don't mind a player giving it large after a pressure checkout it's the constant bellowing following 140s etc that are creeping in that would wind me up if playing.Still each to their own and offence is easily taken nowadays. Well done Wade.Great match

watched the wade game back before commenting what hasnt been mentioned is the bipolar angle here, yes the guy suffers with it ,build up of emotions thinking of negative things then he explodes, but the guy is a role model for sufferers of said condition & a patron of the charity (how are they feeling now) has he brought it( condition ) to a greater audience by these actions, or will a not so sympathetic public view him as a bigoted yob lashed up on nations tv screens, finally on medication like he will be on you shouldnt drink really should you ? or perhaps he is just a bigoted yob, & i was a fan of wade, but now wavering ,

I had no issue with him saying he wanted to hurt his opponent.
His comments about "my country" were cringey but hardly against any rule
His fist pumping and acting the maggot no different that most players

It was the aggressive shouting in the ear of asada that was the worst, abd for that he deserves a fine.
But throw him out of a comp ? Give over, gurney was not thrown out when he made physical contact with whitlock, price not thrown out when he got in ando's face, how many times has MVG got in the face of others
i am so sorry for my actions these last ten years, i'm going through a tough time

'Racist' is perhaps the wrong word to describe it.

'Xenophobic' is a much better term.
