I really rate Asada I think the more soft tip he plays the better he will get if he ever decided to take the plunge and move to Europe I think he could make a lot of money in the PDC.

All they need in Asia is one guy who can compete with the big guys, that will probably cause more young people to start playing the game early. Look at snooker for example.

There are some who can throw a decent dart, but I can't see any of the current batch shooting to the top ~20.

They have the players with ability there. The problem is they are all too far removed from the centre of gravity of the tour. Same as the Yanks.

Don't know, John Part flew back and forth in his heyday (did he?) and it dind't seem to bother him that much.

Sure, the Asian (and North-American) players would benefit if they compete against better competition on a regular basis, but I just don't see the big one amongst them yet.

Far more expensive to do this from Asia.

Indeed, the costs are the real killer here. Right now, it's very hard for an overseas player to move to the UK and commit to playing darts full time. It's a bit of a vicious circle, you need to be really good to be able to move over to the UK, but it's much harder to get to that level when you lack competition and proper events to play in.

Look at the PDC top players, the likes of Cross or Wright were totally unheard of or mediocre until they have just clicked and became the best. If you don't get to play on the PDC main tour, you don't even give yourself the chance. Though I agree that there is no one yet who would be able to make the top 16, but the potential is there. Asada, Royden Lam, Gates or Sayre from the US.

Just imagine if we moved top 10 from Asia, top 10 from North America and top 10 from Australia to the UK for a year. Their improvement would be massive. We only have a few Aussies and Murschell really who are playing on the Pro Tour regularly. This hugely understates how good players from these regions are.

Justin Pipe really is perilously close to missing out on Ally Pally for the first time since 2010 now. He’ll need a good final players championship weekend or qualify for the Grand Slam and hope that can propel him back into the top 32 of the OOM.

Is it far to say everyone from Toni Alcinas upwards will qualify for the Worlds via the Pro Tour list? And that Cadby if he can't get his visa sorted will qualify with what he has so far.

There is no coincidence - these two are just two of a line of young players who everyone hypes up in the PDC and yet never kick on or at least have a bad year after and barely if at all recover. There is a reason why there are no players under 25 in the PDC's top 23!!! That is shocking and something a lot of people seem to gloss over...

I don't know what the reason is, whether it's demands of the tour, physical or mentally and the PDC can play up their youth system, etc but it clearly isn't having long lasting results...
