In the end MvG had a decent, but easy run this championship. None of his opponents could really challenge him.
So it had to end up like:

MVG more than a deserving winner. No one pushed him anywhere near close.

One of the poorest faux World tournaments I've watched, looks like the standard has peaked and started to decline, a couple of good games but many substandard boring games..........

Thought some games were cracking and some games were boring, exactly as will happen next week. The nature of darts.
But the atmosphere will be so much better.......

Lisa Ashton didnt quite agree with that point of view, but each to their own.

I thoroughly enjoyed the WORLD championship. Some good early games like Norris/lennon, Wade/ Asada (despite the antics), O Connor/ Wilson and a few shocks like Alcinas/Wright, Labanauskas/ RVB, Larsonn / Thornton, Searle / Suljovic etc then some not so household names reaching the later stages like Searle, Humphries, Aspinall Joyce and Dobey. Not the best semis and final as Ando didn't turn up (thought he struggled throughout) and Aspinall was a little overawed and Smith in the final was beating himself at times. MVG a worthy winner who got stronger as it went on and proved he could handle the pressure. All in all a really enjoyable tournament.

Hope Aspinall can do smith tomorrow
Don’t dislike Micheal smith but him vs mvg in the final doesn’t really interest me at all
Firstly, Gary is going to beat Michael tomorrow, and I would much prefer him playing Aspinall to Bullyboy.
And, let's just say that MVG does produces an upset and gets through to the final, do you honestly think that Nathan would have a better chance of creating an upset than Michael.
Bump
