If he was merely drunk then two things would have happened,
1. he would not have had to take a couple of months off as he'd be sober the next day.
2. the DRA would have looked in to the matter and most probably warned or fined him.

"Ted Hankey is one of the most beloved and down to earth gentlemen to have ever graced the Oche. He has entertained the darts community and for years, and has unfortunately fell on hard times while continuing to pursue his career.
