The prize money on offer for this weekend across all events is £5,600 and each event has a £10 entry fee all entries need to be done via the website http://www.bdoentry.com Every event has a £1000.00 prize fund except the 18-25 Ladies which carries a £600 prize fund.

Not sure about this event but when the pdc had an event described as a youth event that allowed folks u23/u25 to participate the bdo loyalists would mock that evenr/tour/title. But all seems quiet on the bdo front.

Not sure about this event but when the pdc had an event described as a youth event that allowed folks u23/u25 to participate the bdo loyalists would mock that evenr/tour/title. But all seems quiet on the bdo front.

Maybe something to do with the fact that it's a festival that includes many different events, many of which can be described as youth competitions. The blurb on the BDO describes each individual event, not once does it describe one of them as a 'Youth' event. It's an umbrella term that is the easiest way of describing this group of events. Quite different to the PDC example.

Having concurrent events that are half for players under 18 and half for players over 18 makes the whole thing more "youth" than having combined tournaments up to age 23? That's some interesting logic. I guess almost every BDO-ranked tournament weekend isn't far from being a youth festival then.

Edit: Actually, check that. Only two of the six events are actually U18, one is U20.
