The team event is new the rest was all in place last year.

They are linked up with the CDC this year who are running a couple of age tours that match this and the development tour.

Think they also have academies in Australia now.

wouldn't it be great if we could offer another experience on a professional stage for our players, what about an amazing "and we mean" amazing membership scheme for JDC members, how about creating more huge opportunity in the Junior game like scholarships, meaningful management, and preparing kids for the future, what about a development Tour for the little ones so they feel they can win and don't give up darts, what about experiences money can't buy secured with partners and sponsors behind them how about more opportunities for JDC academy kids to get to the biggest stages in world darts, maybe more tournaments than ever before but less travelling for the families how about thousands in prize money Guranteed no matter how many players would be great wouldn't it?

And that's exactly what we have been working on this year . All to be revealed in the coming weeks.

The Junior Darts Corporation announces its dates for 2019 with an explanation behind the plans from the Chairman Steve Brown. In 2019 the JDC will increase its Junior Tour events to 10 over the first half of the year. Giving 10 places available to winners of these events to qualify for the 2019 Junior World Darts Championship. The events will be staged over 5 dates with 2 events each day. Upon completion of the tour in May 2019, the JDC will start another opportunity for youngsters to excel in the re birth of the JDC'S Super 16 Tour. This tour will comprise of 4 seperate events in the later part of the year with 8 players making the finals in December, 4 winners and the top 4 in the Super16 OOM table who haven't already qualified will make finals day. They will be joined by the top 8 players from the JDC affilaited academies OOM to make the Super16 players who will play to a final on December 28th 2019. The actual final will be played on stage during the PDC's Masters tournament in Milton Keynes in the New Year.
Steve Brown explained, " we are particularly excited about 2019 and as you can see a few changes to our calendar. Firstly we have taken the decision to offer more places to our World finals in 2019 and will now have 10 tour events next year. We are going to hold them over 5 days to reflect the Development Tour which is our natural progression, and will also be good from a travel perspective with two events in one day for the players.
I am especially pleased to bring back the SUPER 16 tour. It was the first tour of its kind way back in 2012 for us and brings back some great memories of where a lot of this started. So we have 2 massive stage play opprtunities in the Ally Pally and Milton Keynes next year, further qualifying spots to get the the World Finals, and more prize money in next years campaign.
I cannot wait".

It is fantastic what the JDC are doing for junior darts, absoloutley amazing, they continue to push the boundaries and are the future of darts for the youngsters. On the flip side with England and their crappy voucher comps and the parents moaning on Facebook.

Leading junior players from around the world are preparing to descend on Gibraltar next week for the Junior Darts Corporation's festival of darts.

The new Europa Point Arena in Gibraltar will host the three one-day tournaments as players from as far afield as Australia, New Zealand, India, USA, Canada and Iceland do battle on the oche.

The PDPA Junior World Cup will see the action begin on Tuesday September 24, with 26 teams representing the 16 nations doing battle in a team event.

The focus will then switch to individual action on Wednesday September 25 for the DartConnect Junior International Open, which will be a knockout event played to a winner on the day.

Thursday September 26 will then see the early rounds of the annual Scott Farms International Junior World Darts Championship take place, as the players begin their challenge to win the newly-named Tommy Cox Trophy.

Play in Gibraltar will be up to, and including, the semi-finals, with the final of the Junior World Darts Championship taking place on Saturday December 21 at Alexandra Palace during the William Hill World Darts Championship.

Dutch youngster Jurjen van der Velde will be defending the Junior World Darts Championship title which he won in 2018, while the Irish challengers will include Keane Barry - who is set to compete in the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay final in Dublin next month.

Live stats from all events will be available through DartConnect throughout the week, along with streaming via Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.

The week's activities in Gibraltar will also include a welcome meeting on Monday September 23 which will include a shirt presentation, as well as an international accreditation evening for worldwide JDC Academy affiliation and education sessions in local schools.

The events come in advance of the PDC European Tour's annual visit to the country, with the Gibraltar Darts Trophy being staged from September 27-29 at the Victoria Stadium. For tickets, visit BuyTickets.gi.
