Spends a year saying the bdo need someone from outside of the bdo to take overBlueSpark wrote:Tommy Thompson
We will see what it concerns, we know nothing about this person, about what he proposes, what history he has, if he has any business history, a quick look on companies house will I am sure answer those questions, we can't be handing over £500,000 of assets to anyone who puts their name forward. This is the problem with just dropping people in at the last minute, it's about being open and above board.
Someone from outside of the bdo comes in and offers to run it and they complain that he shouldn’t run it because they don’t know every single thing about him
Didn’t matter when deluxe was offering them millions or that nobody knows anything of this firm that des says he will get on board.
Dereks proposal
Its a complete mess. If it isn’t full on civil war after the AGM I’ll be amazed.

Re: Dereks proposal
It is rather bizarre in that even allowing for the background of the previous couple of years its hard to believe that someone like Jacklin could have a serious chance of taking over. A cursory glance at forums/facebook would reveal him to be totally unsuitable for any serious executive role.
How could he negotiate with serious professionals within broadcasting to get the deals the BDO needs to thrive????????????
If you dont care about the BDO its great comedy value but those that do need to wake up fast.

Re: Dereks proposal
You only need to be able to win a popularity contest to take over and run the BDO and the people who decide that popularity contest are the average embittered incompetent cos noone else can be bothered County Darts volunteer. Your abilities and competence for the task are very much a secondary part of the process and , I doubt, considered for one moment by your average County Darts BDO AGM going member.Astonvilla wrote:It is rather bizarre in that even allowing for the background of the previous couple of years its hard to believe that someone like Jacklin could have a serious chance of taking over. Recent history shows these 'serious professionals' will be of a level of Freesports where the basic discussion would be 'How much are you offering us to show your sport ?'. I suspect given how the EDO have secured deals with them in recent years a barely trained chimpanzee would be sufficient for this role and would probably gain the same level of success.Astonvilla wrote:How could he negotiate with serious professionals within broadcasting to get the deals the BDO needs to thrive????????????
Personally I think the ones that genuinely did care left the BDO long ago and either helped the PDC in its formation years or have long since retired or vanished in frustrated puff of smoke. The only people who care now about the BDO are the vultures and jackals (sic) who only care about what they can methodically plunder from the remnants of the BDO carcass (bank balance)Astonvilla wrote:If you dont care about the BDO its great comedy value but those that do need to wake up fast.

Thanks mate. The wife and I welcomed a new little boy into the world 4 weeks ago, so I've not had much time for frivolities such as this place. Hopefully that will change as everything settles down.BlueSpark wrote:Welcome back, not been on much lately?
