Des threatened one bloke in Lincs over the phone who fronted him at an event ...Des shit it by all accounts as he didn't know the bloke was quite handy.BlueSpark wrote:Send him my addressTheSandman wrote:Skewball wrote:Jesus. Did he go to the same media training session as Des!
And to think these guys think they are best placed to sit in front of tv execs.. !
Definitely the correct replacement for Wayne Williams, once macdougall gets the vice chairmans fuel card he will be touring the uk threatening BDO fanatics members who disagree with him.

As the wife of the chairman she'll be like the lady mayoress up there with mr & mrs Potter, mind you it'll make a nice change for her to be on stage when the trophy is being handed out.phil davies wrote:If Des gets in will he find a way to change the rules to shoehorn his wife into Lakeside as she ain’t qualifying from the table this year.

Re: The BDO AGM Farce thread
Thank you for your message advising of your intention to run for the Chair
of the BDO.
In the past, the WDF has NOT had a fruitful relationship with the BDO due
to lack of follow up communication from the administration following
meetings that ended with the intentions of open communication and
constructive dialogue in order to enhance the sport of darts for ALL
players. We received ZERO contact following meetings and promises to
continue our dialogue.
Past discussions included including WDF ranking in BDO tournaments outside
of the UK that previously used WDF ranking but dropped due to the player
levy.
We discussed the fact that the player levy was not a cost to the BDO as it
comes directly from the players.
Its this money that supports the WDF Anti Doping program that is mandatory
for ALL sports to demonstrate that we conduct a clean sport with full WADA
compliance.
This was disappointing because the BDO utilises the full compliance with
WADA when in fact they do not test at their major competitions.
The WDF tests at our Cup events to maintain compliance and continue to be
a part of the Olympic movement by maintaining such compliance.
This is a discussion for another day but I wanted to bring this to your
attention because I know your all for improving the sport at all levels.
I will say the dealings I have had with you as a BDO Director were very
productive with full confidence that you are a full supporter of enhancing
the sport of darts.
Even though the discussions we had was related to our youth players from
Canada who are overage in the BDO system being able to participate in the
Youth World Masters, your contribution confirmed your commitment to the
sport.
Your contribution solidified that there will be no more voids for youth
players in Canada.
Having read your intentions and proposals I am confident that should you
be successful and obtain the BDO Chair that we (WDF/BDO) can move forward
on a productive level that will enhance the sports for our players.
You realise that there is much to be done with a vision on what is
required to make this happen
As you are aware, the WDF is a full member of GAISF (Global Association of
International Sports Federations), AIMS (Alliance of Independent
recognised Members of Sports) and are a part of the Olympic family.
With this being the objective of the WDF I belive that we (WDF/BDO) can
move forward with full co-operation between our dart bodies.
Its with this confidence of past dealings with you that I support your
intentions to pursue the position you desire.
With best regards,
Bill Hatter
President WDF (World Darts Federation).

Seems that quite a few underhand tactics have been used, by both sides, to get us to this point....so hold on tight for sunday...
Im still not betting against there not actually being a vote (either they claim a proposal wasnt put in right like last year or something left field like they try to ban a nominated person before the vote)
Im 90% sure Sue and Wayne will still be in charge tomorrow evening............and if they are not whoever is in charge might be in change of a few less counties (or countries) by the end of the day.

Re: The BDO AGM Farce thread
Let's hope the clueless, incompetent and useless BDO delegates for probably the first time in history make the right decision and kick the Tommy Thompson backed Des Jacklin back into obscurity where he belongs. I wonder what Sue and Wayne Williams have up there sleeve though, it can't be as simple as a straight vote between Des and Roger, this is the BDO we are talking about, where solicitors, lies, skull duggery, hidden agendas, vendettas, threats and under handedness are the order of the day. Popcorn at the ready folks, it's going to be a long day.
Note - I see Tommy Thompson is attending the meeting after publicly declaring he would never ever ever attend another BDO meeting as long as he lived. Just goes to prove you cannot believe a word that comes out of his mouth.

Re: The BDO AGM Farce thread
One thing is certain is that it will be a farce!
The Williams could do a Labour of 2010 and leave everything in a mess on purpose. They have already done like Labour and left the finances in the shit.
They could take loads of paperwork, contacts etc with them and make it virtually impossible for Des to make a go of it.
