I would absolutely hate if he came back and was shoehorned into events. Him getting all the WS and PL invites is a certainty which is more than enough. However I wouldn't mind if he had to start from scratch

That would be great viewing.
I think the lure of a third world title may be too much to resist.

There would have to actually be another Lakeside for this to happen and at this moment ......

Why would it need to be happening at this moment? You're aware it occurs in January?

Would give us a much needed shot in the arm.

Publicity, national exposure and ticket sales.
But it would be a tad embasassing when he wins Lakeside.

Wouldn’t happen, would win Ally Pally comfortably but the Lakeside is a different monster as we all know

Don’t know why some on here are suggesting Taylor comes back to anything else but the world championship - that’s all he mentioned.

Yes, it is that much of a Monster that Taylor's winning average of 97.58 in the 1992 Final when he was still learning his trade, still stands as the highest ever winning final average in the history of the BDO World Championship. ;-)

Oh and lest you have forgotten, his 1st BDO World Championship win, saw him deliver the 3rd highest ever winning average in a final, despite the improvement in darts equipment over the last 26 years. :WWWW:

I know your post is only meant to troll the thread, but ffs, surely you can come up with something better.

Look at the facts, Taylor won the BDO world title only twice in 4 years...

Remind us all how many times the man you love won Lakeside please??

What about if he just pays the PDPA fee. He would qualify directly with 2017 earnings or what. That way it would be fair

Tapsa might have just found the Taylor backdoor into the world championship.

Taylor retired, sports stars come out of retirement all the time. If Taylor rejoined the pdpa, his earnings would go back onto the order of merit and he would be in the worlds.

Barry Hearn has always been good getting publicity, can you imagine the publicity of The Greatest Of All Time coming out of retirement for one last crack at the world championships.

He'd be a great asset for the BDO...they would get more publicity in 5 minutes than over 5 years ..no way would he put in the travelling needed to even make Lakeside though..

And in the PDC ?..would they give him an automatic Tour card ? there would be big controversy if they did...so it would be QS...even if they did give him a card he'd have to do every Pro Tour event, every Euro qualifier to get the ranking back up....that would be work he wouldn't be willing to do at his age..there would be an outcry if he started to get wildcards to ranking events

He's technically still qualified by right for the GSOD wouldn't that be a better way of easing ones self back into a possible last hurrah at the Worlds following it ?

Any chance of a link to the interview where Taylor said he’d rather make toilet handles than go back to the BDO?
No mate because you’ve made it up.

No mate because you’ve made it up.

He alludes to the interview in the sky sports chat program I don't think it was 'Time Of Our Lives' it was called something else.

Anyway it is not the one with Judus Gregory on he does a separate chat one to that where he is the only person on it

Also an interview back from 93 is unlikely to be on the internet as the Internet as we know it today didn't exist then. If anyone has access to the back journals of the national press from those days you will find it mentioned in more than one of them if I recall.

I haven't read Phils autobiography but I would probably think there is reference to it in there as well.

On another note as you seem to be more learned than me

Do you know by any chance how to retract a bid on eBay ?
