If you listen to the commentators then every PDC event on tv is a major!

Never understand the Euros being held in such low esteem. If they had ET events in UK and the Finals were at a UK venue I bet we would have it listed up there.

Completely agree. Euros should be up there. Think with it never being on Sky probably doesn't help plus in the early years it wasn't on tv one year. Also having the 8 European players in at times probably detracted from the quality in the early years. As the game has spread its professionalism across Europe and the standard has raised this event is right up there with them. Unfortunately the event qualification hasn't been supported by a few of the top players over the years.ChrisW wrote:Never understand the Euros being held in such low esteem. As a money maker and 'bums on seats' it is no.2 on the list. Arguably no.1.The Jolly Man wrote:Completely agree. Euros should be up there. The PL is the cash cow that now means the Protour is free to enter yet pays more prize money than ever.
However, it is still a meaningless, invitational exbo, with DRAWN games and will never, EVER be a major in its current format.

Every pro tour player would disagree with you.DavidOwen67 wrote:The PL is the cash cow that now means the Protour is free to enter yet pays more prize money than ever.

No, they wouldn’t.Skewball wrote:Every pro tour player would disagree with you.DavidOwen67 wrote:The PL is the cash cow that now means the Protour is free to enter yet pays more prize money than ever.

It's a major.
No, it isn’t.

Is the correct answer. It's an invitational event that serves its purpose of paying for large chunks of ProTour prize money.Black Velvet wrote:No, they wouldn’t.Skewball wrote:Every pro tour player would disagree with you.DavidOwen67 wrote:The PL is the cash cow that now means the Protour is free to enter yet pays more prize money than ever.

I suppose deep down in their hearts they know this to be true...... People saying that the GSOD and the PL are majors they must be off their rockers.Black Velvet wrote:Surprised that this post has lasted so long without someone crying their eyes out calling you a troll.Paddy McGinty wrote:They only have two actual majors....

Which the players would rather win than the UK Open or Grand Prix.DavidOwen67 wrote:Is the correct answer. It's got the 2nd biggest prize money, it's got the biggest crowds and probably one of the biggest tv crowds, and you have to be one of the best to be in it and beat the best to win it.
It's 100% a major and in the top three.
Only geeks on a forum would say otherwise.
