With a name like Williams, there’s a good chance he’s probably welsh

I doubt it was his real name.... but I suppose it could of been Nick.

I think it was a fair question.

Can’t understand why there wasn’t a proper answer.

Yes it was a fair question, just a little suspect in the way it was worded, it's still there, folk can still comment.

I’m amazed that it’s being swepted under the carpet with the ‘nothing to see here’ attitude

If sue had done this while chairperson the EDO would have been out for blood and calling for her resignation for using BICC money to prop up a Spanish event.

It seems Des can do no wrong.

Paul James and Des are now the best of buddies aren't they so no surprise if nothing has been said by the guy who is usually the most vocal, part of the new entente cordiale between the EDO and BDO perhaps?

The problem is very few people know what actually happened and the real reason the BDO stepped in too help out. There's so much miss-information out there it's difficult to make a reasoned opinion on what occurred and why. All I do know is that this affected more than one person.

Well yes, it affected the 69 people who have entered.
69 entries for a Cat A+ (now cancelled anyway) and a Cat A only 3 weeks before the event. Pathetic.

No idea. It's still patheticly low entries this near to the event though. And this latest debacle with the big event being culled will have made minds up for a lot of people now not to bother.

But now they know it's definitely going ahead it might encourage a few more.

Regardless of whatever anyone has claimed this has now set a precident for financial backing of independent tournaments should the rumoured £5k BDO cash injection be correct.
Whether other factors are in play or not Pads they have been totally overshadowed by the fact that his partner is one of the people affected, it may not be a bad decision as such but is certainly is questionable as to the ethical reasons for the cash injection to keep it going.

Either way I think we can safely say the event won't run next year, looked far too ambitious from the start last year and not surprised it has been heavily cut this time around.

Can we though Ginge, who's to say that it won't be bailed out again?

The organisers would be stupid to try it again given 2 years of small fields, in any case it has been claimed it hasn't set a precedent....
