I understand Bob puts the money up but they seriously need to move away from lakeside even if it is the venue itself that pulls in the casual viewer to visit. Start making some money from ticket sales and hospitality and options to make % from food and drinks sales.
All well and good saying move away but you assume they would get a sponsor, and enough bums on seats at another venue, to make ends meet. They are hardly a sponsors dream at the moment are they?

As an aside, its the Masters in a few weeks and I havent seen a single post on social media channels plugging tickets for it. Too busy plugging the Turkish Open, clearly....

It's all amazingly predictable though, isn't it?

What would be better for the future of the BDO, attempting to get a crowd in at Brid (and even if you have to give away tickets in the local area, the fuller it looks the better for potential sponsors/broadcasters) or lining your own pockets?

Has the description of location changed for the worlds? Or has it always been this?

Good spot.

ChrisW is the one who found that page first on here (its not a public page yet) so maybe he can recall. Either way, the fact it doesnt say Lakeside is plain odd, especially when they left the venue names in for plenty of things afterwards.

3rd post in thread also mentions that WDT and Masters didn’t have locations. Can assume Lakeside must have been in otherwise it would have been pulled.

If they’ve left Lakeside they won’t get tv.

So when Des came on here and said he had absolutely no interest in running the BDO, it seems he may have been telling the truth after all.

Like Chris said, Sparky commented that it said Lakeside, I quote the post above.

Seems a very strange to edit on a non-public page if you are staying there. This is all very odd.

Simple answer is that they are not staying there. If they were staying tv or not, sponsor or not? They can still sell tickets to the darts.

I can’t see how moving it away from Lakeside will now get them a better deal on any front. Unless Potter has told them to get lost if they don’t have tv.

Ive always assumed that all ticket proceeds go to Potter anyway as part of the deal of his sponsorship and using his venue, cant imagine he would let them stay there and keep all the money from sales themselves.

I agree with you though, moving elsewhere means a start from scratch. When you arent the biggest player in town anymore and havent been for a long time, it aint gonna be easy.

We could be jumping the gun here though and it could still be at Lakeside yet, although this carry-on is rather bizarre

Maybe someone read this thread. Saw the presumptions and thought we had better change that as it isn't decided yet.
