If someone reports a post that just says "hello", nothing would be edited as it doesnt need to be.

Don't know what the report says but if you don't take reasonable action in a reasonable timescale you become complicit should there be any legal implications.

People are personally responsible for what they type but once an offensive or libellous post is reported it drags the site into it and we have to take action if we deem it necessary.

However, in all fairness that post was both racist and offensive and regardless of it being reported or not, I would have edited or deleted it anyway.

But those of us that benefit from an ounce of common sense can see that as an admin he just can edit the post without making a report under a different name, editing the post and then closing the report.

The legal requirement isn't someone reporting it its actually when person(s) in control of the content becomes aware of it and becoming aware of it is simply reading the post theirself.

So from a 'legal' point SSJA call is correct
