It certainly suggests that ch4/bt is very unlikely. A new tv company could want a different schedule as don't forget the evening sessions midweek did finish quite early and would a new tv company even agree to the same number of days and/or week midday sessions at all? It might need all to be done in the evening midweek- or daytime even !
It tells us that there is lots of uncertainty still in the air
I doubt extending it beyond the current 9 days is doable. Hotel will have bookings either side.
well of course, I'm more thinking of shorter - or less sessions. Now I know the logisitcs of that is hard but the point is that a potential new TV company is a big deal and so I don't personally think its a Red Herring. Anyway, its probably more to do with how much to charge, which is also partly dependent on the coverage it can get

Shorter or less sessions means less players. Can't see it myself.

I can, its not like they are showing much else.

I dont see BT doing anything other than say the final weekend, anything they share with they are going to have to cover full production costs as no way will freesports be getting anything other than 24/7 and their shaky camera.

Fewer.

Let's face it. Des saving the Vizcaya event to help get his Mrs to Lakeside will all be in vain if Lakeside goes to the wall.

He should have been focusing his efforts on the BDO flagship event instead of saving some tin-pot WDF event that wasn't even under the auspices of the BDO.

I genuinely believe that there's now a greater than 75% chance that Lakeside simply won't happen next year.
No venue yet, certainly no TV coverage, no tickets on sale, no schedule, unlikely to find an alternate sponsor to Potter so prize money in jeopardy too.

Well done, Des. That's our January jolly to the darts shot, too, you useless sod.

Anyone seen Dilligafly?

There is no way that lakeside won't happen (next year, Jan 2019!).

I just can see that scenario happening. The whole system would collapse.

Correct. It will happen and it will be filmed. As to where it will be shown: pass.

Quoted for posterity. Or for me to get an "Any luck?" post.

Don't get me wrong, I want Lakeside to succeed, if only for the January jolly-up. I just think that even if it does go ahead at Lakeside then the delay and the concern from the ever dwindling fan-base will mean that the df tables may be the majority of the attendees on those midweek nights.

The sales may be pathetic and dire.

Yes. The 2 tables for the group of darts fans organised every year on df. If it was done on here I would have called them the TSOD tables.
Maybe JC has a point.

Yet another plug on the BDO FB page...for the sodding Turkish Open. Two of them now in a row, 4 days apart. Ridiculous.

Too busy lining his own pockets to save the flagship BDO event.

Well, can't say we didn't all see it coming.

Rather that Wade than the D.F. Wade.

Chris - I call him that because he posts on df.
