Reminds me of the episode of The Young Ones where a young Jennifer Saunders appears as a character called Helen, saying it would be rather embarrassing if her surname was Back.

She then goes on to reveal her actual surname as "Mucus" :D

Hope his dad doesn't spoil the next couple of years by demanding folks lower the age of comps and demanding he is picked for England etc.

With the JDC, EDO and BDO youth events there is a lot o opportunity to play with an eye on turning 16/18.
But bu but I thought it was the dream of youngsters to play on the Lakeside stage?
I guess some folk genuinely held that view (in the past). they spouted it enough. The history, the tradition, proper fans etc. Reckon not many, if any, do hold it now.

OK BDO look at the publicity - the Daily Mirror FFS.

Des you need to dip into the BDO coffers and announce a youth World Championship alongside Lakeside, hold playoffs and just play last 4 boys U16 and last 4 girls U16 but contact all the papers, breakfast TV etc. and get some promotion in for this lad and the likes of Beau Greaves. Stick £4k first prize for each (£2k final £1k Semis) so it will cost the BDO £16k but the publicity the BDO and Lakeside will get will more than generate that money AND will bring the BDO to the fore which cannot hurt any TV contract negotiations.

Des make it so - now.

The joke is that it's the biggest bit of publicity that the BDO have had in years, they need to jump on it now.

This lad should be in Cardiff this weekend at the JDC event showing his qualities riding the momentum.

I thought there was a Youth World Championship, reigning champ van Tergouw, £5000 better off as a result? Or is there an age limit on it?

I knew a bloke called Charlie Farley.
You might have to be of a certain age for this to mean anything though!

Company I used to work for, international company, had some great names on the intranet contacts. Hans Kok, Airy Man were two Dutch blokes and my favourite, which is genuine, was an Asian Finance guy called Wan Tu Fok.

Rather unfortunately the biggest bit of publicity the BDO have had in years was earlier this year thanks to the wandering hand of Ross.

Forgot about that. Always worth another read just for his pathetic comments...
