Won't be long before the PDC get the blame. That side of darts is in dissary, NDB is a shambles, BDO could be bankrupt by January, English and Spanish cancelling events, Scandinavia turning their backs on BDO/WDF and now the BDB is on the brink of collapse.

In the meantime Des Jacklin has gone to ground. The open and honest Chairman has disappeared off the face of the earth.

No no no no he put a post on the BDO FB page this morning to plug an event he directly financially benefits from.

Dear BDB members,

On Monday 20/08/18 the BDB held a meeting concerning the composition of a new BDB board on the basis of the vacancies received. Due to the very limited vacancies received, the statutory minimum was determined of 5 board members, however, not met. There was too little concrete interest among the current provincial governments to put together a complete and a new board.

In consultation with all those present, the very difficult decision taken to dissolve the BDB at the end of the year, 31/12/2018.

The provincial authorities of Antwerp & Limburg have agreed to put their heads together in the coming period in order to discuss the various options for the continuation of the BDB in any form whatsoever . They will also commit themselves together with Dave Kerwyn to continue the ongoing business.

This decision obviously has an impact for the players who have played the BDB ranking.

That is why the following decisions were taken by the provincial authorities of Antwerp, Limburg and Flemish Brabant:

The upcoming European Championships in Hungary for seniors (from 25 to 29/09) will continue as provided, under the conditions set.

The players in the selection will be notified about this soon by Dave Kerwyn.

The players selected for the Winmau world masters will be able to participate in this tournament as well as at the Lakeside play-offs. Players who place themselves directly or through the playoffs for the Lakeside World darts Championship will also be able to participate.

The different BDB competitions will be started and finished as planned.

No Cup of Belgium will take place in the coming season for the teams that compete in one of the members provinces.

There will also be no BDB ranking in the coming season.

The provincial authorities may still consider the possibility of organizing a Belgian championship. More on that later.

All attendees regret that this decision must be made. The coming months will show whether there is still one continuation is possible or a definite end is set for the BDB in its current form.

Time for the PDC to start stepping in to fill the void left by these events and organisations going.

By way of its success it has contributed to the downfall of these so it needs to keep this structure, in some form, in place.

I would now fully expect the PDC to invest in a European challenge tour from 2019 with extra development tour weekends on the continent.

surprised any of those 3 posts above were allowed on here without some saddo complaining.

Its a bit refreshing to see an actual thread on darts discussion being allowed be discussed without some "fanatic" who is not really a fanatic cry over the bdo "hate"
i am so sorry for my actions these last ten years, i'm going through a tough time

Dear darts sympathisant,

A while ago the Belgian Dartbond (B.D.B.) announced that the VZW will cease to exist on 31/12/2018.

As a result of this decision, the boards of the provinces of Antwerp and Limburg have, as announced in the same report, put their heads together and are reviving the Belgian Dartsbond.
B.D.B. vzw as you now know it will cease to exist and a renewed organization will see the light of day. A full board of directors is composed of all active provinces and the only active national board member. They will make all preparations for a smooth birth and work together on a policy that puts the interests of all players first. The new organization, as an umbrella organization, mainly wants to invest in the darts player in general, and represent the interests of every player and every darts association. They also continue the good relationship with WDF & BDO and improve it where possible. During round-table discussions with various darts organizations, they view possible collaborations, now and in the future, that fit within the renewed structure and vision of the organization.

In the coming months, the name, structure, mission and vision of this new organization will be further elaborated. All information about this will be communicated and explained through the official channels.

With best regards
