Does the PDC rule about streaming/tv need to be lifted?

Post by ChrisW »

Reading elsewhere already there was a competition this caused problems.
Do the PDC need to rethink this rule?

I know you were reading mine and lurgans posts elsewhere, but this issue is not a new thing.

Been going on for YEARS, where pdc players were not allowed partake in streamed or televised comps. This discussion has happened on here in the past after the incident in Belgium a while back
i am so sorry for my actions these last ten years, i'm going through a tough time

Thought it was black and white only tour card holders can’t play in streamed matches or am I wrong?

It was Lurgan's post not yours where I saw the issue mentioned again.
I think the issue first came up in the Hague Championship which I posted here.

You are correct. It is not a DRA rule, it is a section in the Tour Card Holders PDC contract.

Zeyes metioned on TDF that they should be allowed with a PDC badge on their shirt :) Finally sense from the PDC Fan boy.

It was an issue at the Belgium Open weekend recently when Kim Huybrechts won the mixed pairs, and Dartfreakz was unable to post the video of the final. They were trying to get permission, not sure what happened in the end.

There are some BDO events that aren't streamed - West Fries Open, BDO International, Welsh Masters. Plus a load of Cat C and D events.

Hope the PDC sort something out with this, shouldn't be beyond them really!

Is the issue non PDC events letting tour card holders in and not the PDC restrictions on its tour card holders?

I think the easy answer is don’t stream the opens. And get the numbers up on entry fees. It’s not like the BDO will be getting any cash for the streams anyway.
