What does the future of the GSOD look like?

With the recent announcement allowing all the top BDO players to go to q-school each year and the top of the ranking will gradually look like a seniors ranking or the top of the challenger tour will the GSOD still be in existence in a couple of years?

The 8 BDO spots will remain until the day Hearn probably decides the 8 names no longer put any extra bums on seats, that day may not be too far away with BDO players/tournament slipping further out of the public consciousness.

No. When I say wdf the pdc could pick the top players from around the world who don't have a tour card.

those players may play within the 'international pdc system' and also non pdc events. But for the TV fans they will just see them belonging to another code.

Just a thought. It will be interesting to see who the '8' are this year. If the 'star quality' continues to drop (Gary Robson in?) Then maybe hearn will re think this.

But why would the PDC match up against the WDF. Even less people know about the WDF. Also why would the PDC rub all its regional noses in it by working with their regional competitor?

I suspect a complete re branding.

Would like to see the PDC have 4 regional champs from its system at the GSOD to replace 4 BDO players. So have the winner of the current Oceanic Masters, North American Champs, Evemt then create and Asian and European event. Where the events currently hold a Worlds place is move it to the regional oom.

I think in time they’ll keep it as it is all major winners then dropping down the list of runner ups up to 16 places then 16 PDC qualifiers instead of 8.
