Which reminds me is there any truth in the rumour that the BDO recently contacted that Pot Hole Rescue team who discovered those lost Thai Boys in that Cave complex in the hope that at the next WDT they would be able to locate a few spectators ?

How many of the BDO opens that Richie Burnett entered while serving his ban for drug abuse did he win?

Yes mate
Makes a change from the leisure centres.
Does it make a difference? I mean do the players still piss in the trash bins outside the venue?

Bins, the sides of buses, makes no odds really.

Only downside to this is I like the UK open events as a kind of "welcome to the PDC" event, everyone who went to qschool and the tour card holders all together for the qualifiers.

Suppose it means now that the "qualifiers" are just the first x challenge tour events, how many of them are there before the cut off?

Also is there any need for the amateurs at this point?

Nope, the PDC website says the 2018 CT OoM list will be used.

Yes mate, it also has a sponsor and live coverage by a major TV channel
Do they still remove punters for looking like Jesus?
Yes, Uncle Barry is the one and only Messiah permitted.

How the hell does that work?

also not much incentive for people at Qschool, its now straight up tour card or challenge tour. Listening to a lot of players the UK open and the fact you had a chance of getting there whether you got a tour card or not was a big incentive.

Also means if you lose you tour card this year and dont get it back you have no chance of entering the event.

Adds more value to the cards then.

About time getting a card guaranteed you a shot in a big event.

Which was never the point of the UK open, it was an incentive for everyone that went to Qschool that year.

Times change.

Maybe they dont want 500 no hopers at Q School and this is one way of doing some quality control by stealth.

'The FA Cup of darts' - is it now just another event?

Zapp wants to strip any originality from the PDC calendar.

Not really, its still an open draw like the FA Cup and you can still go to Rileys and qualify for it.

More than possible given that 90% of the BDO players will be entering QS ;)

It's also possible that the size of the Uk Open qualifiers had or were likely to reach such a scale that they were going to become unmanageable or too large for any venue.
