Re: 2019 Q-School
you are making out that the BDO #1 who got a tourcard on his second day for the right to be among the top 128 is some sort of success says more how you view the bdo #1.
Getting a card should be the very least expected of a "bdo #1"
Did you "never doubted durrant" also ?
i am so sorry for my actions these last ten years, i'm going through a tough time

Re: 2019 Q-School
No, because he's not a PDPA member. Even Adam Smith-Neale's would have reverted to zero had he gone to Wigan and won a tour card because if you're out of that top 64 by the end of the year (and are not on a 2 year card) you go back to 0Murphio wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 5:13 pm Would be very disappointing - and in my view exposed a flawed system - if Glenn Durrant and Scott Waites fail to win Tour Cards. I mean ffs they have five Lakesides between them and one is a PDC Major winner.
Incidentally - in relation to the Grand Slam - if Durrant does get a card would his Grand Slam money count towards the OOM since he qualified as a BDO player?
Re: 2019 Q-School
I am not talking about the Grand Slam past - I am talking about the next one. If he wins a card he will play in the Slam in November as a BDO entrant despite the fact he will be a PDC player. Would it be fair that money was added on to his OOM total when his qualification for the event came from winning a BDO event.Mensur Suljovic Fan wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 5:18 pmNo, because he's not a PDPA member. EDIT: Unless, of course, he qualifies through the PDC criteria as well in the meantime.

What are you on about??
There were many who didn't think McGeeney would get a card, I thought he could.
Anyway, are you seething after TWO from TWO cards were won by BDO players today??

The BDO pick their 8 players. Are they really going to pick a player who doesn't play in their system anymore?

Seems McGeeney has taken well to the PDC floor. Will be interesting if he carries it across to the pro tour events. As apparently he will bomb on TV.

I have wondered what would happen now in relation to the PDC World's if someone who failed at QS went as a Riley amateur & won the UK Open and then went on the win the Grand Slam. Are they then considered a full pdpa member who would in effect be seeded at Ally Pally ?No, because he's not a PDPA member. Re: 2019 Q-School
Fair point. What exactly are their rules for picking who goes to the Slam? Would seem strange they omit their current Lakeside champion even if he has crossed codes. Then again it might be even stranger if they did pick him!
Re: 2019 Q-School
As far as I know they can pick who they want. Seen nothing to suggest otherwise.Murphio wrote:Fair point. What exactly are their rules for picking who goes to the Slam? Hence why I asked would they really pick someone who won their title 3 times in a row and then ran off?
Could be immaterial anyway.

Re: 2019 Q-School
Well done both! Having the BDO boys in Q school is making it very interesting.
Very happy to see Scott come through and a bit meh about McGeeney but he's played well. Williams and Conan next would be nice. Durrant would be interesting , and not bothered at all about Waites.

Yeah, it would be basically like Ratajski, makes no odds whether you win a tour card or not, you are still a PDPA member if you go to Q-School, it's just a matter of the amount of tournaments you can play and whether you can retain your money and playing rights for the next year essentially

Re: 2019 Q-School
It's happened plenty of times before, I believe Michael van Gerwen's debut in the Grand Slam was achieved as a BDO player before he switched. I believe that money stayed on his OoM total, and I think the rules are still the same (MvG is fine by me as the BDO was pretty strong then, would be a bit dodgy now that it's a lot weaker but hey, what can you do). As Ginge says, it could all be academic...in more ways than oneMurphio wrote: ↑Fri Jan 18, 2019 5:22 pmI am not talking about the Grand Slam past - I am talking about the next one. Re: 2019 Q-School
The number of invites are discretionary to the PDC. They can , and have in the passed with Adams etc, 'adjust' the number offered to the BDO and whom they could apply to.

why would I be seething the bdo #1 took 2 days to have the right to play in the top 128 of the PDC ? I think McGeeney is another Ian white, will be grand in the leisure centres and empty halls but has zero tv game and will be nothing but fodder on tv.
Plus he is boring to watch.
Baker I enjoyed watching and he is a good addition and you just know the PDC will play up that mod gimmick.
Nobody can put a spin on the durrant disaster that still has me giggling, that and the fact both lakeside finalists jobbed, not just one day but 2 days
