Yeah, all I had was that he's from Kent, nothing else. As I say, I'm about 99% sure this is all a load of hot air to be quickly swept under the carpet and said player will play in the PDC this yearPVDarts501 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 11:03 pmMensur Suljovic Fan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 11:00 pmMcGeeney announced his intention to switch even before the announcement, I'd be flabbergasted if it's him. If it's a Kent man you're after, maybe Kirk Shepherd, he's been mentioned across the road. But then again I think it's far more likely that it's a load of bollocksssjsa wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 7:32 pmMark signing for both Unicorn and Dunvegan would suggest that his intentions were always to play the PDC in 2019. Dont know who the tweet is referring to, but definitely not McGeeney.Zapp Brannigan wrote: ↑Tue Jan 22, 2019 7:26 pmNor does it make any sense, the pro tour is free now so its not like you have to find money once you sign up.
I think hes trying to suggest that someone wanted to go back to lakeside next year or do the full BDO tour and the only person I can see that being is McGeeney (signed up for Dutch, is sponsored by people in the BDO, signed up for exhibitions with BDO lot) but surely he knew all this before going.
"This is the hardest thing I've ever done in darts, I'm so relieved to have won my Tour Card back," said Shepherd.
"I think I've been a bit of a nightmare to live with for the past few weeks because I've been so determined to do this, but now it's all worthwhile.
"The standard is so high now, I don't think I averaged below 90 in many games which is the standard you have to be at to compete, so I'm pleased with how I played."
Said this on PDC website, so I dont think its Shepherd.

Re: 2019 Q-School
Funny thing is if we go simply by averages, he did have to do better to win his tour card than beat some of the top players in the world to reach a world final lol

Whitcombes twitter account has hardly been used in over 3 years and he has less than 150 followers. Think he is just trying to get noticed and remembered.

Definitely not Mark McGeeney , was sat with him most of the time and he was so impressed by the set as was his Mrs , direct quote coming up.......”Not seen anything like this, it’s brilliant, I want more of this” that was day one.

Someone reckons, on real fanatic , he has misunderstood a jokey post be duzza (duzza saying he can stop Williams becoming no 1 if he decides not to accept card).

Re: 2019 Q-School
Most on thete have previous connections to the PDC or have been openly happy about getting a card...so that really only leaves Carlin and Wilkinson...Wilkinson won the Polish Open last year ..don't know much about Carlin....I imagine it will all be rubbish though...why do 4 days knowing you are right up thete in the points table without wanting a card...
Re: 2019 Q-School
Re q school entries, I've always said it mostly depends on the draw. 2 top players play each other while 50 plus avs on next board. Doesn't necessarily produce the best or fair reflection of talent. Vetting is difficult but I personally would seed it. Controversial but a weaker player with below par averages could possibly pick up 3 or 2 points per day depending on draw alone. Seedings based on maybe pro tour card loss and bdo entries etc could make a fairer q school. And make it more professional. It's just an idea based on personal experience.

Re: 2019 Q-School
The results this year showed it worked just fine didnt they? The top players qualified or finished close up in the table. Who of the TC winners do you feel got through because of a lucky draw or a fluke?
Re: 2019 Q-School
this is the point the forums favourite jeff jeff jeff was articulating that the random draw means players of 90+ average can play easch other & 1 goes out first time & a lucky 50 average playing each other can pick up easier points, but whatever is done someone will always be affectedSanti501 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 23, 2019 1:33 pm Re q school entries, I've always said it mostly depends on the draw. 2 top players play each other while 50 plus avs on next board.
