Anyway...

UK Q School numbers now at 250. A mere 600 less than Oche stated the total was a week ago

sounds like a lot fewer 'chancers' are going for it these days. Should be high quality

and could be a few more of the Europeans ones get through if the ratio doesnt get much bigger.

Not yet, it depends on final numbers.

Well, they increased the price last year and with the BDO rule change there are expected to be more of the top BDO players. Should be a particularly tough year.

But maybe it's just that as the youth development is maturing, players are getting more realistic about their chances.

Wonder how many are going to QS to try for a card and how many just want to play the Challenge Tour.

Wow, 8 more Pro Tour events, that is a lot of money to play for.
The prize money is crazy, £14m, no one thought it could get to that. To think 3 or 4 years ago people were saying the bubble had burst!

Just the 9 events with more prize money than lakeside.

They replaced the UK Open Qualifiers with more Players Championship events.
Pretty much, those _30_ Players Championship floor events each have more prize money than the BDO events other than the World Championship.

Of course, to get good money you have to beat better players, but a player who on average wins 1 match per Players Championship will earn at least £15k without setting foot on a single stage.

Add another £1k if they win their first game at the UK Open.

That's a pretty decent foundation to allow people to try to become full-time professionals.

Seems about right but I'd be surprised if any got a card. Even Ana. It's a tough ask and there are so many tough opponents out there.

Unless they are only entering to get Challenge Tour status, the women will all be wasting their time.
