...because they obviously all believe they have an excellent shot at winning one, and aren't just doing it for the Challenge Tour and/or as a show of gratitude.

So now they are spending £450 on a show gratitude?

Makes the free qualifier quite expensive.

If the rules haven't changed, Ashton and Dobromyslova got theirs for free. (Well, for the cost of a mandatory prize money deduction from their £7,500.)

Is he therefore banned from Lakeside at that stage? I know that was the case previously but wasn't sure since the rules were relaxed.
I'm trotter01 now..I couldn't log in as trotter and it kept telling me I didn't exist....??

Anyway...I would assume the same rules apply...if you don't get a card then you can play BDO events until you actually play a pro tour....if somebody doesn't get a card they don't have to enter Pro Tour events even if they sit number 1 on the Challenge tour so I suppose it's up to each player really...they know the score..

Have one of the mods deleted your account?
Shameful scenes.

Does Cameron Menzies know he has to register? He’s not assuming that just because he gets free entry he doesn’t have to do anything??? Seem to remember he forgot to register for UK open last year...

I'm with John Lowe on the Durrant issue...I think a 3 time successive Lakeside winner should be offered a card...no arguments.
I hope he gets one..and Williams..and Waites..and Jamie Hughes and Menzies....there was so much dead wood got cards in the past couple of Q Schools I really hope cards are won by serious players with serious prospects of getting to the business end of Tour events and going on to get into TV events..but I honestly feel a special case should be made for Durrant as a one off..

Yes thanks. These two were given wildcards to the tour, my question was is wildcards written into their rules or not?
I think they say any former World Champion can have a wildcard.

Obviously that applies to Doherty but not White. So not sure how White qualifies.

Serious players? Jamie Hughes wasn’t even good enough to finish in the top 10 of the challenge tour OOM. Plenty of players better than him at Q school.

Durrant, Waites and Williams should all be good enough over 4 days to win one. Hope Menzies wins one too as I love watching him play.
Did Hughes miss a number of CT due to qualifying for ET? I think he will get a card not sure there’s 18 players who will be at QS who are currently better than him. Should be an interesting QS and hopefully some fresh faces get there cards.

Jamie Hughes would be on my list of players I'd like to get a card...I don't think there are 18 players better than him at QS so he'd definitely be on my list as players I hope get one..obviously Durrant and Williams and Waites and definitely Menzies I'd like to see....then just any players who will be competitive and add to the tour as a viewer..

He missed one weekend. But in the 16 events he was in other than winning one event as well as one semi and one quarter his results in the other 13 were god awful. In 7 of them he made zero money and in a further 3 he only got £50 for reaching the last 64. Their is most definetly 18 players better than him at Q school not that means that he won’t be good enough on one day to win one. I won’t be selecting him for the comp however put it that way.
I shall be  thank you for doing the above research, I thought he missed more than 1 weekend..

I see the talk on BDOF is if 3 of the 4 semi finalists that have gone to Qschool get a tour card will the 8 invites for the BDO for the grand slam change?

I think it was inevitable after the performance of the BDO lads last year.
