Watching him in the PL was brilliant.
Beating Taylor in Vegas and winning the UK open as well if I remember.
Ill always remember his 97 finish to beat Taylor
Aye that was class.

Don't think this interview will help Gerwyn's chances of being selected for 2019.

Yes, I can imagine a man who puts out an interview saying the event isn't for him and he didn't enjoy it the first time will be utterly seething when he eventually doesn't get selected to play in it again

I'll be delighted if he isn't selected.

Price will be as well, seemingly.

Joe Cullen would be a perfect fit for the PL, quick throw, easy to watch - would entertain.

Price doesn't deserve to be in this time. And another one whom I think needs to sit a year out due to lack of commitment I'm afraid it's Barney.

Yep his averages in the 70’s would suit it well.

Doesn’t deserve a spot unless he does something big on TV before it which isn’t gunna happen as he is way to inconsistent.

But seriously, has had his best year to date - agree he needs to perform in the remaining events to have a chance but no different to Ian White and Darren Webster who both appear to be in with a shout.

There is at least 1 spot up for grabs, probably 2 and no one is really jumping out at you - Jamie Lewis and DvdB who were in with a shout at the last PL have only been on tv once each since the worlds...it's probably the hardest season to pick a couple of players with no one really jumping out at you!!!

Their are only 6 players who deserve a spot the big 5 plus Smith. They will probably give Gurney one too because of his ranking so that leaves 3 spots with nobody deserving of them thus far.

The big 5?? Gurney is ranked 5th currently - perhaps you're including Barney??

Mensur who is definetly one of the big 5 nowadays

Gurney is ranked higher but I agree Mensur will be in despite a poor PL last time.

So current top 8 plus Barney leaves 1 place up for grabs...

In other words what I said. Plus most likely Gurney

3 places up for grabs with not one player deserving of it as of yet
Yes I should have included Gary's Bogeyman with that list.

If they want a new face, the only one I can think of who might do OK would be Jeffrey De Zwaan. (And would be a good replacement for van Barneveld).
Cullen might also be worth a punt since he can get hot and make some games interesting.
Otherwise just hope somebody shines in the coming majors. If nobody does then can put some veteran names into a hat.

From the veterans Wade and maybe Lewis can get a second chance

Wouldn't it be great to see Steve Beaton finally in the PL?? The crowd love him, would entertain without doubt.

Outside of a core of 5/6 players you could put anyone else on the stage and a PL crowd wouldnt care less.

So its a no from me.

Beaton's a steady but unspectacular player hovering around 16th. So no. Better to throw some money at someone younger who blows hot and cold.

I don't believe for one minute they're leaving Smith out this year, unless he fails horribly in the rest of the season.
