Youtube to stream it......If a couple of youtube muppets can get millions of viewers for a boxing match. BDO should get just as many viewers watching alot more muppets on a daily basis for just over a week.

Was this one.

Only they aren't running around doing anything

Des has jollied off on a freebie jaunt to the Euro Cup with the BDO expenses credit card firmly in his grubby mitts and the rest of the board as far as anyone else can see are busy Fiddling back at home whilst what remains of the Amateur side of darts burns

Interesting that Jacques Nieuwlaat is there also as he probably masterminded getting PDC on to RTL7.
Could give Des some advice.

So Premier Sports and Freesports have free schedule time to show BDO.

I guess the issue will be they will want rights for free and BDO to pay for filming, so something BDO will need to find sponsor for.
I’ve said for a while now that it would be their best bet to share it on that

Both weekends on freesports then the week on premier sports, try and get a long term deal to include the masters and wdt if it’s going ahead and try and get some kind of offer for reduced memberships, say half price for the week when the darts is on
The first weekend has Pro 14 rugby which they are contractually obliged to screen.

Hence comment only interested in last few days from Quarters.

Who do you think will show it?
It's got to actually happen for someone to show it.

Staging the bloody thing should be the first priority, worry about TV later. It looks less and less likely to happen with each passing day.

The problem is it's apples to oranges trying to 'sell' the BDO product to a broadcaster compared to the PDC slick professional media machine.

Can you imagine the advice you would get if it was a case of what you said ?
You need professional presentation on other major sports and TV Channels around ithe world with armfuls of corporate sponsors , selling out arenas all over the world along with the best well known players in the world playing under your code. When you have this RTL will give you 5 mins of their time to shoot your pitch at them.

RTL7 were saying last month they weren't allowed to show the Dutch comp in Maastricht. They wanted to broadcast it.
Strange how contracts restrict possible large viewing figures.

No it isn’t.
Hearn has said before in interviews he doesn’t want the premium product of PDC darts being diluted by his broadcast partners showing other non PDC darts whether that’s BDO or other organisations.

I presume the event you are talking about is a big floor event with the final rounds on stage ? but only limited paying audience. So would look very poor on TV compared to PDC and a Euro Tour event say.

Erm no, he's on about the Euro Tour event that was in Maastricht :)

Well done for breaking the news Ginge. Can't see any way they can pull a rabbit out of the hat at this late stage and should have come clean and given the facts on their own terms rather than being humiliated by a simple email to/from C4? The fact dullards on fanatics doubted this just because of who made the effort to get an answer shows how their minds work?

Even "The Fanatics" Must see this as a positive? The board must respond to this now Ginge has smoked them out surely? Shoot it down or confirm either way it's better than the silence? If there is some decent deal being brokered last minute then now's the time to come out swinging.Unlikely but not impossible

Logic dictates any deal to happen won't be as "decent" as any before it, unless you actually think Channel 5 will pick it up.

Of course they won't have apologised yet.
If they stick to their usual playbook, their next move will be to blame your emails for the loss of the Channel 4 contract.

whoever the bdo do blame it wont be themselves thats for sure.

As usual it will be the fault of someone else, the very notion the product and the board is simply alien to them
i am so sorry for my actions these last ten years, i'm going through a tough time

Ginge's "well timed" publication could now jeopardise ongoing, current negotiations with other broadcasters. You lot won't be happy until the BDO is in it's grave. Put your pissed stained coats on and give yourselves a big slap on the back....
