Seen someone on fanatics say they were yearly goers but have given up waiting and booked to go to the Dutch open instead

FWIW, my reasoning for not picking a date this week was that I expect it to be a largely bad or at least very unimpressive announcement, and this week sees the Northern Ireland Open being played. Isn't Des enough of a politician that he won't want to release bad news on the eve of a home country org's flagship event? Next week it's just Hungarian events, and nobody cares about that.

Whilst I get what you're saying, I'm not sure I agree.
Are we not yet at the stage where it's pretty much as farcical as it can get? Announcing it today is no worse than announcing it yesterday, and no better that announcing it tomorrow.

Short of getting the whole thing back on the BBC (which isn't happening), there's no way for this to play out now without everyone involved looking like thick-as-pig-shit chancers. It no longer matters who is to blame: Des, Sportotal, the old board, who cares? The damage is done.

Pretty much anyone of my vintage who loves darts does so because of the BDO Worlds being on the telly every January. It's where we all started our love affair with the game. That successive administrations have allowed it to become nothing more than a laughing stock for folk like us on forums with too much time on our hands is a disgrace.

But by far the worst part is, you know as well as I do, nothing is going to change.
