Freesports would be the end of the line, Premier sports with a couple of matches on freesports would be preferable as they would at least pay something to the BDO.

Nothing to do with Matchroom by the looks of it Ginge, looks like an independent operation. https://seniorsnooker.com/sponsors/

The logo is very similar to the World Snooker one though. Thought they may have brought it back in-house, clearly not.

Following the statement last December that the WPBSA would engage to develop an official tour of events for players over 40, we can now confirm that a new subsidiary company known as World Seniors Snooker will be formed under the auspices of the WPBSA, which during the 2018/19 season will run a full calendar of six World Seniors ranking events.

Jason Francis, founder of Snooker Legends will be a partner in the company and brings a wealth of experience from his previous involvement in developing successful Legends events and more recently was granted the rights to run the World Seniors Championship on behalf of the World Snooker Tour. Following two successful events, the project now merits the support of snooker’s world governing body and its amateur international federation, the World Snooker Federation to continue its growth.

Francis will be joined on the board by WPBSA chairman Jason Ferguson and WPBSA player director and current professional world number eight Shaun Murphy, who will both support the tour with their undoubted passion to develop amateur snooker globally.

Jason Francis was the man who brought us the Bullseye Tour a few years back, with Eric, John and Bob...

Hence why the couple of matches on Freesports like they do with the Pro14 duh.

Better not televised at all than give it away as it would devalue the product ad infinitum.

Premier would hardly be paying a kings ransom, its way down the paywall pecking order as it is. IF Sportotal are going round trying to get £200k a year for them again they are living in cloud cuckoo land.

The product is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, if that is "nothing " then so be it.

By which point most of next years ranking events will have been played....Can't see it as a viable option
Perfectly viable, Lakeside already happens each year when a quarter of the qualifying year for the following Lakeside has been and gone, so why not?

And if its a permanent change to spring or summer you just adjust the next qualifying year to take into account a longer period, before reverting back to a 12 month cycye.
Which certainly for 2019 would remove the choice for the players to do Q-School....

Could imagine it now...Sorry Ross, We have moved the date of the Worlds to June 2019 so as much as we know you would have loved to have a crack at Q-School you can't and are now forced to remain with the BDO or give up your place in the Worlds that you worked so hard for over the last 12 months.

The winner gets a spot at the world qualifiers so they are affiliated now.

Annoyed they moved It from the baths hall to the new venue in Hull, enjoyed going to it the first couple of years.

Was talking to hendry when it was first on, it’s basically a piss up and a golfing break.

World Snooker have got a 10 year contract with Eurosport and IMG upto 2026 I believe ,with the Worlds, UK and Masters also shown on BBC with the same IMG production...they have a deal with ITV as well for some different events...not a bad deal at all....Sky did show this seniors I think but haven't for a while and it's obviously a separate company arm now responsible for staging it and getting TV rights

Yeah indeed!

You don’t see any snooker on Sky Sports now with the Premier League long gone, the shoot-out now on ITV and as you say the seniors only being shown a couple of times - any reason why??

Premier League became unviable with all the new ranking events going on the calendar, I would suggest.

Wasn't too long ago that the snooker season had a mere 6 ranking events. Ridiculous.
