A website updated is probably needed as well, the current one looks like something I used to access on Netscape Navigator in 1998, whilst speaking to people on ICQ.

What little I know of the Youth Grand Prix, it did seem impressive, and hats off to them for that.

But it doesn't come close to glossing over the whole "World Cup? You won't believe this. They've only gone and decided to hold it in a foreign country. Talk about taking a liberty. I mean, how do they expect us to pay for the flights?" thing.

If they genuinely have aspirations to being the officially recognised governing body for the sport in this country, then their failure to get teams to the World Cup should be subject to a lot more scrutiny than Pauly just going "Yeah, we couldn't afford it. Our youth events are quite good though"

Thought I saw someone post about some issues with the archives under the new website. Las Vegas Desert Classic, US Open also have no data. So I think its just a matter of them not having everything loaded yet.

What has not sending a team to the world cup in another country got to do with attempting to become the governing body of the sport in this country??

Well yes, they can try, but as said it may count against them.

Is this a genuine question?
Are you suggesting their abject failure to fulfill what must surely be their main remit shouldn't have any bearing on whether or not they are considered fit and proper to be the governing body?

And people wonder why the non-PDC state of the game is in such a mess.

In England. Recognised by the government. Opens up opportunities for funding etc.

TT been quite open about it in the past. Think initially they saw the bdo as being the body they needed to beat to get this recognition. Some now think the pdc are looking at this. Obviously the pdc weakness in the past was not catering for kids and ladies. Jdc now coveting that base.

thus back to the op. Could be a reason for the pdc to run a ladies wc.

Yes it was. I don’t know what the qualifications are to become the governing body in this country of any sport, unless you different??

Anyway, will Sport England (or whoever decides) even know there is a WDF World Cup??

I suspect you're being silly now.
As Devo points out, being recognised as the sanctioning body gives you official Government recognition, and opens up avenues to securing public funding.
As such I would expect those in charge of making that decision to carry out due diligence.
In this case that should most certainly include knowing the WDF World Cup is a thing, and then asking England Darts (if they apply) why, having stated it was in their remit to send teams to this event, they then failed to do so, claiming financial problems as the reason.
That's the least they should be doing if there's public money at stake.

And incidentally, I never said the World Cup fiasco should be a bar to achieving recognition as sanctioning body, just that if they wish to achieve it, then they've got some explaining to do that should go a bit deeper than "it was a bit too expensive"

Hmmm so the EDO are trying to become the recognised governing body.

Was this what Des offered TT for his backing to become chairman??? That the BDO wouldn’t oppose the EDO.
